The UK has been sick politically for over 30 years, well now is the opportunity to join Europe and participate correctly.

thats a sea change I have been waiting for since I was a young 16 year old European.

Britain awakes from its coma.

You really should try open mike stand-up KK.......You'd be great.

We have waited for this for a very long time and deserve an opportunity in what is a failed state.
Why not give us a shot, your lot have received numerous opportunities and fucked up generation after generation.
Lets try something different to Greed is God.

MOST PEOPLE NOW BELIEVE A PROPERLY SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT WOULD MAKE BRITAIN BETTER

https://politicalscrapbook.net/2017/06/ ... in-better/
That would be a reasonable response if labour hadn't been in power for 13 consecutive years up to 2010. They purported to be socialists.
What, socialists, Blair a socialist, yeah ok.

I would say the last real socialist government and probably the only socialist government was the one which came about at the end of the second world war.

They did a lot of good, its about time we tried again.
Hence I said purported. The issue for me is whether a Corbyn led government would be allowed to implement a true socialist programme. I suspect that internal strife and financial imperatives would prevent it.
What is a true socialist program, its certainly not as extreme as the media portray.

I think what we saw with the manifesto was good centrist views on a better way forward and the people bought into it.

As for cost, thats more about priority with your spending.

I would expect HS2 to be binned in the short term with that extra 80 to a 100 billion used to bring front line services back up to spec.

Then we see if the old Keynesian economics do the trick in growing the UK economy.
As regards Brexit I think Labour would settle on a European free trade area agreement with a five year block on immigration.

The official cost of HS2 at present is nearer £60b over the next 9 years. It might be welcome if that money was redirected to certain areas (investors are not likely to do it though) but it will barely touch the annual requirement to meet all the promises made on education, tuition fees, NHS, police, fire, ambulance services, social care, local authorities etc. It would also lead to a massive loss of investment which would blow the Keynesian model apart. Also don't expect the true rich to just sit back and let money be taken from them. There will be many ways found to avoid it.

I would also be extremely surprised if the EU just accepted a free trade agreement with a 5 year ban on immigration. Money will run out quickly and, as soon as there is a problem, the "right wing" of the party will be piling in to cause trouble. Just my alternative analysis Knocker.
