Everything is so understated. Can't imagine any player getting above himself with this guy in charge.

No individual praise publicly, but I bet there's loads in private. Gentle, softly spoken approach, but hiding an inner core of grit and steel.... No-one will mess this guy about.

My biggest fear is whether we can hold onto NES for more than a year, never mind the players!

Trouble is, if we lose him then there won't be a fecker out there capable of managing the squad he's assembled.

Derby fans being very complimentary, and so they should be. We made them look silly at times.

Like Boro before them Derby players, staff and fans start doubting themselves because they didn't expect it.

Truth is with the quality Wolves have assembled if Wolves produce their A game against any opponent in this division they win.

Top players all knowing their roles in a fluid system thats multi dimensional.

With passing as its core value.

A very active forum thread compared to ours. Just goes to show how things can change as for the last two seasons, we were moaning too about our weaknesses. I don't know who the ''Ram in Wolves Clothing'' is, but he wrote a decent post over there.

It's going to be a tough week travelling to Hull followed by a Home game against one of the division's most notably fittest sides who are currently on a high. No idea how NES will choose his team for Tuesday.

This early in the season Nuno can go again with the same team.

Regards tiredness and fatigue the only players in this system who will eventually need rest are the wide players.

Hull have a punchers chance because they have a striker who is supremely confident, and thats always the key element for a striker.

Yes Moscovich, Tuesdays team selection was the first thing that crossed my mind after today's fantastic result. This is the first time NES has to consider how a Tuesday game may affect his preferred starting eleven, as we are playing a decent Hull side. It would be nice to go into the Cardiff game undefeated.

One game at a time, but it would be nice to come away after both games ''undefeated''.

Isn't it great to actually look forward to games again!

I cant remember the last time I was this confident in a Wolves side to be honest because I cant fault the coach.
It is that simple.

System, team selections, recruitment all seem bang on.

Agreed - AND he seems to have an excellent attitude, personality, way with the press, etc etc.

I love the way he is very understated. His emphasis on TEAM not individuals. He just seems hugely quietly self-confident. This surely rubs off on players.

I suppose the question is (and I would prefer it is never asked!) how will he react if and when we lose 3 in a row? Does he remain calm, measured & intelligent? I hope so.

This guy is pure class.

If anything it looks like we should have really put more past them.

Big loss for Villa.

Very impressive win yesterday, against a team who have battered us there over the last three seasons. I expected a draw at best but it seems we are solid at the back and the movement is a key factor in our play now, pass well, move well and close the opposition down as often as possible. I just worry that as I am going to Hull midweek, it will all fall apart.....folks, you have your whipping boy at hand.. 8)

Over the years of watching football there has always been a surprise package, Ipswich, Leicester etc. albeit, after a season or two, they get ''sussed''. There must be a system for playing against us, perhaps it is like for like, I don't know, but once some clever Manager/Coach works it out, they'll all try to copy it except for those diehard 4-4-2 merchants who will never know a Horses head from its arse. Let's hope it takes them all at least a season to suss how to counter our style of play.

Derby folk, like most in the division, don't quite seem aware of the quality we have been brought in, we might not be Barcelona but the for the purposes of this division the gulf is that big between us and the rest.

Thanks for the link. An excellent 10 minutes of viewing. My word we played some sublime stuff! If that continues, SOMEONE is going to get a real pasting this season!

And they were Derby's highlights! It was a game of men against boys. Sublime passing, movement, footwork positioning...all we need to do is to improve on shooting.

The result is fantastic but more important was the performance. Unlike vs Boro, we seemed to really force our style on the game and dictate how the game was played. Always important.

I think Jota summed it up accurately when he first signed, he was asked by a reporter what he would bring to the club.

He said, he would RUN.

Well in this system, the way its laid out, they all have the opportunity to run.

That may seem a given, that all players should run but some systems are so regimented in their make up they stifle the ability to run.

Within this system, if you can pass, and they all can pass the ball well, maybe the only side that can do that one to eleven, you have the space to support the pass.

Easy angles are behing created yet they would be a nightmare to defend if your the opposition.

Even the better sides like Boro, Derby, two really good Championship sides couldn't put a glove on them.

Yet Hull away offers a different test, a more compact team, in a kind of 4-4-2 which is the go to system in Portugal these days.
This is the hardest test as yet but rather than feel any pressure there looks a relaxation within our first team squad.
Should be fun.

Certain elements pooh poohed our new Chief before he got here as too defensively minded, and his new signings proved the point for his detractors. Well, I think we can begin (only begin, early days) to see how wrong that views was. He builds from the back. He attacks from the back. He has two out of two from his "Defensive" team.

Will be set-backs along the way, always are, never forget we are Wolves. But not a bad start from a boring manager.

It's a good start because we haven't been saying we didn't play well but we got 3 points and that's all that matters, the performance has been there too.
Early days but promising.
