.....The rumour mill suggests Cav is off to Huddersfield for 9 million. I hope not, but I said Afobe to Stoke was fake news.

I think Cavaleiro's strength on the ball makes me feel confident he is one of the players that will adjust particularly well to premier league football. He has a range of skills, pretty good vision and is generally unselfish. However I also think he is borderline with fitness and his weight needs to be watched carefully. If Grealish goes for 20 million I think Cavaleiro is equally valuable if not more.

Imagine a world where a player of the quality of Cavaleiro only sets you back 9 million.

Pure fantasy.

Hopefully this is fake news or an offer has been made and we have laughed at it. We need to keep Cav.

Couldn't agree more. Double that and then some. He's staying at Wolves.

Cav is a hugely important cog in our front wheel. Devastating on his day, still a threat when not on top form. Huddersfield or Wolves? I can't imagine his going even if the club wanted it. Which I hope to God they don't.
Some website even tried to spin this as being great news for Wolves fans - on the basis we must have a stellar replacement lined up.

£12m bid accepted.

Fact or bullshit? Seems they're pretty certain about it.

Although Tim Spiers says it's bs.

Great Cav has posted on Instagram and F'book that he is looking forward to the new season with my club Wolves. Timed posts today to dispel anymore speculation.

Yep. His Twiitter post seems to dispel the rumour. Also, Spiers has stated our club has no idea from where the rumour emanated. No basis to it.

it would be a mistake to sell him at this point, need to see what he can do in the premier league first

Could Cavaleiro lose a stone and become more effective in the Premier league?

Yes. I have always thought that he was carrying a bit too much weight. However, that said, he was very good for us all last season carrying that.

One of Cavaleiro's main strengths is his ability to hold off challengers. I just wonder if he lost a bit of weight whether he would lose some of that. I would say that players have an optimum weight which most benefits their performance.

Weight? Looks solidly built to me, doesn't need to lose weight, if anything it probably helps him strength wise holding players off

If he played more without the ball he wouldn't need to lose any weight

I would have thought if he needed to lose weight some of the Wolves' fitness and dietary expert staff would have cottoned on to it way before anybody sitting in the Steve Bull.

And swilling beer. I bet those who think he needs to lose a stone would exchange their fitness, build and BMI for "fatty" Cav's if they had the chance? I would.

And that would be a mistake, especially of Traore is his replacement, I'd rather see Costa leave before Cav

I'd be surprised if this happened. Although he does appear to be behind Jota & Costa in the pecking order, I think he still has a part to play and he definitely has the ability to be successful in the Premier league. Just can't see him wanting to go to Huddersfield, or us wanting to sell to a rival.

That said, every player has his price.

As with all things at the club, we only see what's on the surface.

His happiness, and where he sees himself as a player, may be a factor. If we have already brought in an as yet unannounced player, that will, or may be, above him in the pecking order, he may be very unhappy playing third or fourth fiddle. To be honest he's too good to be bit player. At his age he wants a showcase to prove himself, all very plausible.

We just don't know. All part of the fun roller coaster ride that is following the mighty WWFC.

It is surely part of the package if you join forces with Mendes. Some things we will like and others we won't.
