Thanks Jeff & Nuno for bringing us the most exciting window of summer business.

We have bought a heady mix of young talent and experienced campaigners who will fit into the system we want to play.

The last few days has been a mad time for speculation based on .... well, very little. We knew of the moves for Dendoncker and Zevchenko, but in the end couldn't persuade that latter that the Wolves project is one to join.

but if he is willing to sit on a bench for most of this season, the he isn't the 'hungry' type we want here. If he is worried about Wolverhampton being a city devoid of 'the bright lights', we don't want him here. Perhaps he thought a 'top 6 side' would come in for him? Who knows. But I suspect he may move in the next window....

But meanwhile, we have an excellent squad of excellent footballers, and a commitment to carry on playing confident attacking football. That's good enough for me!

Wolves have 'Secured' their talent rather than heavily invested in new talent in my opinion. Wolves have spent 63-67 million pounds on their squad for the coming season, mainly on players we had last season, a squad that is perilously short of cover for the vital players we have.

If Wolves never win a game and are immediately relegated they receive 90 million in parachute payments? Speculate to accumulate??

Yes. Who would have thought we would spend 77 million (inc Afobe) in a single transfer window. I will still be a bag of nerves match-by-match. I take each season one game at a time. But, looking at things at this moment, I am very hopeful we will survive with room to spare. Some disappointing defeats coupled with some glorious victories. Think we'll finish somewhere between 9th and 12th. Glorious.

When we went up in the recent past we had a put a shift in mentality accross the club. Owners, managers, and the majority of the players didnt really believe that as a collective, they were a Premier outfit.

Totally different mindset now. Thank you indeed to all involved.

I think it's 6 new recruits and 5 of last season's squad signed up from being loaned. We ain't gonna carve up the division but we will, I think, be competitive and survive quite nicely. I do agree, though, that we might have signed a marquee signing or two but, overall, a steady influx of quality has occurred.

Relegation would be an absolute disaster. Half the team would piss off and Nuno would be jettisoned. I know others on here are caught up with the "bigger picture" but I am nervous on a match-to-match basis. We MUST survive and establish. This is one mighty division to conquer.

By and large very pleased, however, the Afobe deal puzzles me and I would have kept Douglas as back up.

I think Nuno expected to get Zinchenko, which is the only reason he let Douglas go - bit like how we let our forwards go at the end of last season then failed to get in the guy we were after, but that worked out ok!

Its fantastic supporting a smart club who use their heads trying to get things right.

Well done Wolves.

After decades of supporting this club I can't help but be pessimistic. To me our squad looks wafer thin defensively and if Neves gets crocked we are stuffed. Our backup central defenders are mid table championship at best, our only specialist LB is Vinagre untried at championship never mind this level.
How many games can we expect out of Mouhtinio (Spelling)?

I can't go along with this romantic idea of a top ten finish, I do think we may stay up but not by much.
The likes of West Ham, Everton, Fulham teams I thought we were better than have had Massive windows and left us in their wake.

Sorry guys I do hope I am wrong :)

There is simply no need for realism and/or pragmatism on this board. Next you'll be saying we didn't sign a striker !!! Jeeez....Get a grip.

Lighten up Cradley. I am nervous too because it's only recently we ain't failed big style. We have signed a striker, a Mexico full international. Give him a chance. This has to be the best Wolves team since the 70s. Let's take it match by match in this division. With Fosun in charge we can always buy in January. We have brought in quality but haven't paid outrageous money. Clever owners. Clever management. Clever players. What is there not to like?

There is excitement in the fair town. If nothing else, I am grateful for that.

This is a team of skilfull young men who will take time to "get" Nuno's plan, but a group with the potential to do just that given time to gel. It may mean to begin with we get thumped. But I honestly don't think that will last. For once we have not gone up just to make up the numbers. We have the backroom staff, management, and owners to make a fist of it. It's going to be fun.

Moving the fixture back to 5.30 has ruined my day.... Will spend whole day in nervous but excited anticipation....

Gonna be a fantastic season - whatever the outcome!

So looking forward to this evening and the season as a whole. 38 very mixed years supporting Wolves and it feels very different now. Everything feels right. Best manager in 50 years, fantastic players, exciting formation and style, even the kit is the best in years. A real connection between team and fans. My only worry is having to fend off the inevitable ‘glory hunter’ jibes coming my way down here in Sussex :)

My daughter is walking around London today with her daft Yank boyfriend, wearing her Wolves shirt with pride. I asked her to wear a stab vest and carry a bazooka, but no, she is proud and intends to show it to all and sundry.

Silverstone, did you start the same thread on the mix.
I didn't go to the match,I watched from my recliner with the sound down so as not to
listen to Mc Mannananan.
I should add I enjoyed a few glasses of wine,oh yes,Nuno needs to up his game I see or
maybe the much vaunted trust will diminish.
Time for a lay down.
