My son who comes to Wolves matches with me has just moved to Brighton. He tells me that ALL of October (including the date of the Wolves game) there are NO TRAINS between London and Brighton.

So if - like me - you already have tickets - be warned!

Not sure if this affects the train from Brighton to Falmer (the cost of which is included in your ticket).

There's a Park and Ride from The Racecourse and from Lewes but the one at the uni is shut until January. Buses leave from 12:30 pm.

Anyone know if the train will be running from Brighton up to the Amex in Falmer? We are staying the night in Brighton (travelling down by car on the Friday). Presumably there are loads of replacement buses from Brighton if the trains ain't running?

Thanks for all that! COULD go from Gloucester, but am in fact driving down to stay for a couple of days. My note was more a warning to others to get things sorted well in advance. I assume if no train from Brighton to Falmer, they will be laying on loads of buses(???)

I doubt it. Why not park at The Racecourse and take a Park and Ride which involves no cost? I'll be there by 1:00 pm to make sure I get a space.

Sounds a good idea - but driving there from the middle of Brighton might be a pain! Certainly worth exploring. It'll be busy with one of the other park and rides out of action!

It's easy. Drive out towards the marina and then straight up the hill in the opposite direction from the sea (obviously! ), turn left at the junction towards the pavilion and then left again by the pub around the back of the pavilion. The racecourse is signposted and all these landmarks are easy to spot as it's all open land. There are 700 spaces so be there early enough.

As I said, I'm going to arrive at about 1:00 pm and then watch the TV game in a bar at the ground.
