Allegedly a loan to the end of the season and an £18 million option at the end of it...according to a Facebook message taken from WM Radio.

Or not...

"Done deal" sounds a bit premature. WM aren't exactly reliable, half of what they broadcast football wise is just to generate callers.

Guess we'll have to bide our time but it does look promising.

John Percy says it is close to being done, nothing about a permanent deal just a loan till the end of the season

As I don't expect us to be relegated,I would prefer to wait until the season finishes and
get better than Abraham.Decent championship player, not for me.
Maybe he's another one to sell on soon.

I still expect him to stay at Villa for the season.

Reporters and fans jumping the gun.

Same here... I'm struggling to get excited about this one, but if it's a loan then it's fairly low risk I suppose. I think maybe some fans are liking the idea because it sticks one up the Villa rather than for the player himself.

The next Carlton Cole?

Don't care if Abraham doesn't score a goal and leaves us in the summer. Worth it to totally mess up Villa's season

I think he'll stay at the Villa, there is no option for us to sign him permanently in the summer in this initial loan deal, so he will stay where he is, score a load more goals in the Championship and enhance his value more and re-evaluate himself in the summer.

The problem is the likes of Spiers feed off the same initial rumour and have to run with it to appear in the know.
The noises out of Villa seem just as sure he will remain with them through the second half of the season.

Good for him. Loyalty as rare as an honest car salesman in the modern game.

He did bunk off training yesterday, though. I guess there was summat in the wind and perhaps the authorities didn't give the go-ahead on the three clubs in a season issue. Perhaps he just realised that he wouldn't be playing regularly.

Time to move on.

He'll go or remain where his employer darn well tells him he will be. He's a young player having his career dictated to him by Chelsea.

Like so many others, can’t make up mind re this one. Is he good enough? Is his attitude right? Will he learn & improve, or think he has ‘already made it’?
No doubt we are doing due diligence.

Regarding the lad, I don’t pay any attention to those guessing why he wasn’t in squad at W/e, or training on Monday. Only he knows REAL reasons. Are Wolves seeking clarification from FOGA? Has ‘loan’ been rejected, but sale accepted - or vice versa?

Let’s just wait & see. Meantime I really hope we have at least a couple more striker irons in the fire!!

I don't know about any players' strengths being appropriate for us, Mr Silver. All these names are being bandied about every transfer window and so many chat about them with authority about their strengths and weaknesses yet never is anyone universally in agreement. Even clubs don't get it right e.g.Fulham with all their outlay.

As you say, I just wait and see but I'm always on tenterhooks during the window even though I don't have an opinion about any of them.

Apparently after 14th January his loan cannot be terminated with the Vile so there will be clarity one way or the other pretty soon.

Wouldn't be surprised if Crystal Palace take him on loan.

Yes, as a Lahndan lad he'd probably prefer staying in the Smoke.

Far to many Villa players going through the motions during matches which indicates an easy dressing room with a comfort zone.

Rather than a challenging environment with players stretched to improve.

He had their only attempt on goal. But absolutely skied it. Decent enough Championship poacher when the ball falls loose in the box due to the harem scarem play typical of the league but not an assured finisher by any means.

Villa remind me of Wolves circa 1998. There's enough talent to do far better but the collective will and hunger of a team is absent. Too often they take a shellacking against on-paper inferior opposition because the fight simply goes out of them when it gets too tough.

Add in the fans' absolute expectation that they go up and it makes for a toxic environment that is unlikely to bring success in the near future. The only thing going in their favour they have is the coach being a fan which will save him some of the fury in the short term.

I know a number of Villa dads at my lads Saturday team, and they do seem to have an imperious attitude just like Wolves fans under Sir jack. I haven't seen the goals from their game at the weekend, but by all accounts Hause had a shocking debut!
