It was that season. We'd just beaten Bury 4-1 to secure promotion and it was my first trip to Molineux.

The John Ireland Stand, before it became the Steve Bull Stand. The Feathers Pub is on the right at bottom.

Possibly Wolves v Bolton but it does not look like the late Jimmy Murray to me.
Why would he be defending?

More questions than answers with this picture..

Isn't it the Bolton keeper?
Same pattern socks as us but black and white. A subtle shade difference on the black and white photo?

Here's another revelation .... it wasn't Boxing Day 1956 .... must have been 11th February 1956 (4-2 win, Jimmy Murray played with Colin Booth inside-left) or 2nd February 1957, 3-2 win for the home team, Jimmy Murray played.... Joe Bonson centre forward.

Certainly not later than the 1956-7 season as the new floodlights were installed at the beginning of the 1957-8 season, and those in the picture are the original ones

Really must do my homework and not take things on face value.

Great pics indeed, that "W" photo is excellent and look at the quality players we had then, McGarry had a great squad to choose from.

Typical of McGarry to put himself centre-stage.

Not sure Sel? I got them from Pinterest (it's a phone app).

I'm guessing late 80's early 90's (1991). When did the work on the Billy Wright (Waterloo Road) Stand begin?

When was the Asda built? You can see it in the distance.

We'll have to wait for warn to view it. He'll also know the opposition and who the No 8 is, no doubt. 8)

I'll guess 1990, Swindon and the No 8 is Paul Cook.
