Any minor piece will spread like wildfire in the modern world though. The amount of football "news" sites just reposting BS for advertising clicks grows each and every day.

Could still happen, but I've not seen anything credible (e.g. Sky Sports News, BBC Sport).

Surely it's not a deal Thelwell can be pushing giving his comments about Afobe?

He was lucky Afobe didn't sue him to be honest, but probably felt more secure hiding behind Jez as he had said similar. Unfortunately for owd Kev, Jeremy has left the building.

Tiquinho Soares poderá estar de saída do FC Porto.

De acordo com a imprensa nacional, o avançado brasileiro perde espaço com o regresso de Gonçalo Paciência.
O atleta deverá sair a título definitivo.

Little bit Sh may be FC Porto exit.
According to the national press, the Brazilian striker loses space with the return of Gonçalo Patience.
The athlete should leave outright.

It was mentioned on SSN last Friday. WBA or us. A return could be a bit awkward after some of the parting comments but he didn't help with his performances before leaving.

I'd be willing to 'forgive and forget' if he is. Some harsh words said by Wolves on his departure.

But now Villa supposed to be in, having lost out on Ulloah to Brighton....

We'll just have to wait and see. In Nuno we trust...!

Why spunk £10m on a player who can't cut it in the Prem?

I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole personally.

Never go back. F*ck him.

its not a rumour or anything but could you imagine Frimpong in this team?

he was too quick for the team he played in (at Wolves) but he'd be great in this team.

still only 26 and playing in some backwater league.

I'm on the fence with Afobe. A lot can happen in a short space of time in football. Physically and mentally. Especially after set backs.

Has Afobe got it to take that he's failed in the Premiership. Take a step back and go again. Or will he do the easy thing and live off a decent season a few years ago and make some easy money bouncing around the championship flattering to deceive.

Perfectly fine if you don't want Afobe back due to feeling he sulked to get a move. But to say he isn't good enough for us, which I've seen a number of people say around other forums/Twitter is just crazy.

I can only assume some think we're going to be playing champions league in 2 years or something. Our primary focus should be to get promoted and then start to build a team which will be able to hold our own an even more competitive league than the one we're currently in. Afobe fits that bill imo. Still young too so will hold value if we want to upgrade down the road.

Are there better? sure. Can we afford to bring in better or have the pull as a championship team to do it? doubtful.

Wolves do have the pull to lure Afobe because they can offer a huge promotion bonus.

And players looking at Championship clubs will view that feature more likely at Wolves than say Derby or Villa.

Its a tough call for the manager, does Afobe offer an insurance policy of added goals should the current system falter slightly.
Is Afobe smart enough to adapt his game to fill anyone of the three forward positions, could he replace Costa on the right for example.
Does he carry the ball through the field as good as Costa and does he work hard enough without the ball.
Is he enough of a team player.
Tough call for Nuno I'm about 60/40 in favour, but there are massive question marks.

There's a chance he might pick up from where he left off here and there's a chance he might fit in with Nuno's system but, equally so, it's difficult to forecast how negatively those 2 years of nothingness at Bournemouth may have affected him.

When he was here the Sako / Afobe / Dicko partnership linked up very well and was very productive - even Dicko looked like he could hit a cow's arse with a banjo - but since then, individually, they haven't been great.

If we don't have anything else lined up I'd take him on loan to give us another option because he's sure to have a goal or two in him but I think it's far from certain that he'd come here again and really do the business.

Eddie Howe this morning on SSN; 'No bids for any of our players'.
Asked about Afobe; 'No bids and he continues to train with us'.

Or something like that. 8)

It's not about "luring" Afobe, I'm sure he would like to exit Bournemouth pronto.

It's about whether Wolves are prepared to spend at least 9 million and tie down a player who will surely offer goals for the next few months, but then is entering a league he has failed to cut it in. A league in which Wolves - with Fosun and Mendes - will be able to attract far far better in.

Obviously a loan would be ideal under these circumstances, but what motivation do Bournemouth have to just give him away for the rest of the season for a minimal loan sum? They're not exactly sitting pretty in the table themselves. They will hope to receive firm bids to buy - which may well be forthcoming from clubs like Watford, Palace... or Villa and Derby.

A loan with a potential future transfer for Afobe would be good. If we get promoted he would be a decent back-up option. If he bombs send him back.

Fair enough for us but no t very attractive to brownmuff.

Buy for 9 mill, bring him back to goal scoring best, keep as backup in perm or sell on.

Your probably bang on.

To much heat in this January window, best wait for prices to reduce a little during the summer.

Unlike our recent passed, we are not running around like headless chickens. Mick and Co would have spent millions in this window and dumped or loaned out the majority of the buys by March.

More calculated minds are at work here. Let's just see.

Bournemouth/Howe want to sell Afobe but buying him outright seems to be off the mark. Grabban is available on loan and he seems to be an option.
