Disappointed for the lad but:

GOOD - he gets a proper rest
GOOD - he gets to start pre-season alongside his new teammates
GOOD - he won't be injured
GOOD - he won't be 'in the shop window'

His time will come! Portugal's loss is our gain!

Seconded.

The only reason he isn't going is because he has played in the second tier and not the Prem. Next season he will be a shoo-in for Portugal. This guy is a superstar in the making, no doubt in my mind. God bless the lad for staying with us. So many would just buggar off for the bright lights e.g., Knocker Lite.

As if.

If Neves stays fit I think he will play a big part in the Euros in 2 years time.

Gutted for the lad and the club. Strong competition in that area for Portugal, don't think playing Chump rather than bench sitting for Porto hurt.

Glad for us, but they must have some team if he can't get in it.

Wouldn't fit would he in what Portugal are trying to do but you can see Portugal will have to rethink and rebuild after the World Cup.

With Neves being key for Portugal over the next decade.

Our Ruben must have been emotional when Ronaldo fired in that free kick.

Fabulous game that was last night, would have graced the Final. Portugal always a tad behind Spain on overall quality and passing accuracy but had the guile to keep digging in and with Ronaldo in your side, anything is possible. Ruben would be unsuited as to how Portugal are setting up and playing but his time is in four years.
