Indeed, KK, my main worry is the gradual erosion of the fantastic team spirit we had last season. Add to that the newer players coming straight into the team and replacing players who excelled last season and it is a potential minefield of a situation if not handled very carefully.

Last season was excellent, no need to tinker with players positions and players playing off the wrong foot.

So easy to lose the balance and through that the verve and speed of the team, be very careful Wolves.

Exactly my thoughts after hearing how we played Saturday, I need to see us play with my own eyes first but is sounds like we have unbalanced ourselves when we didn't need to, don't fancy Traore either

Don't see a problem integrating new players. We did it last season. Nuno understands how to do this.

Don't know how the team was 'unbalanced' on Saturday unless it's a reference to playing a right-footed left back. Jonny is used to playing left back but I would expect a left back to come in before the deadline.

Any truth in the rumour about Danny Rose?

This weekend should be the eye opener about how Nuno looks to set us up this season.

If the team that started against Derby in its selection and format are the same there are real concerns.

What concerns? The format was very much the same as last season.

All I can see is that a CB is needed and perhaps a left-footed LWB. Also maybe extra competition in the CM and forward departments.

Last year we exceeded expectations with a work in progress. This year different task, probably harder job, but we are still a work in progress.

Those who think we can build the perfect Premier league team in one transfer window are missing the " work in progress" bit.

Nuno proved he knew what he was doing before. Give him the chance to prove it again. It will take more than one transfer window that's for sure.

Chris Smalling now linked. Odds slashed from 33/1 to Evens this evening.

28 years old. played 48 games for Man Utd last season. Good move for us??

Probably but there's nothing in the rumour.

I hear the target is Victor Lindelöf with much dependent on United getting their own targets on board

He was supposedly the target in January. Just returning from injury.

Guedes?

£53m price tag? Loan? Very similar to Jota.

Need a LWB so Jonny and Doc can compete for RWB, need a CB so Saiss can compete for CM again and need another forward, I'm not comfortable with the squad as it is

An English club has bid 22million for Domagoj Vida, his current club looking for closer to 30million.

Although loans out could go on through August as Championship sides look at which Premier league players are not making match day benches.

You can see Championship contenders formed by what they do this month in the loan market.

Danny Batth will have a few options.

That would mean that at least two centre-backs would have to come in.

Leander Dendoncker to Wolves is all over the internet rumour mill at the moment. Even the West Ham Blog is reporting that "despite chasing him for 12 months, it appears that he is on his way to Wolves" and expressing much regret that they have missed out.

Have to say that though I have never seen him play (apart from against England at World Cup), all the noises sound encouraging. Not least - he seems to be a very level headed and quiet and sensible young man (to have stayed despite all plaudits at a relatively minor club in a relatively quiet part of the world... advised by his family (not a big time agent looking for a big %).

I think he might just fit in superbly well. And as a defensive midfield who can play across the back 3, it makes us look much more solid. Perhaps replace Bennett at start, be tough holding m/f away at the top 6, and eventually Coady replacement?

Al looking good. Ffffffffingers crossed!

What I love about this is that so many of the BIG names we are signing are sticking to the plan of buying REAL quality, but while they are still young enough:
- not to be too big-headed
- not too old to change styles
- young enough to benefit from quality coaching
- real ASSETS in terms of their value. So many will only INCREASE over the next 3 years:

Neves, Jota, Traore, and possibly Dendoncker, Zinchenko

plus a few older heads for stability: Moutinho, Boly, Patricio .....

Looks an excellent blend if we can get them all over the line....

Last of your points is the biggest one for me. It’s easy to buy experienced Prem players in their late 20s. That’s what most promoted clubs seem to do. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. We’re going after proven players that have yet to play their best. If they do, they help us win games and eventually get us more money to buy more players. We’ll never hold off the Man Cities and Barcelonas from our players. But we can make sure they give us our due for them.

Dendoncker looks close but you have to get these players over the line because other clubs will be sniffing.

Zinchenko seems a done deal.

A striker perhaps?

Whilst it is very exciting seeing such potentially great players coming here to bolster the squad for the Premier League campaign, I do wonder if the club Academy is now facing an uncertain future in the longer term? Promising youngsters will see that their paths are blocked by big named stars and will decide to move on elsewhere, if not get moved on anyway by us. Are Academies now old hat at the very top level..??

No!

The academy will be essential in bringing on the next generation. With top players around the place asrole models, it can only help to attract the very best 16 year olds.

As a business model, Fosun will expect the academy to generate cash by investing in youth. Yes - the days of dozens of local lads filling the academy may be gone, but investing in youth is still the future.

The fact Chelsea, Man U etc buy in world superstas has NOT meant the end for the likes of Rashford....

I don't ever remember our academy being full of local lads, we always seem to have more Irish than locals
