Just been told that Talksport are reporting that Diego Costa has agreed terms with Wolves.

This all reeks of agent & media BS. There is nothing much happening but Costa needs a club so let's spread some muck.

"Isn't Mendes his agent?" "Don't know, maybe." "Well, let's link Wolves anyway, their Mendes' club."

I can't truly imagine Wolves taking on a player like Costa when they are hunting for a striker to come off the bench to supplement their two established forwards.

Looks like it was all bollocks about Costa coming here. I blame Moxey.

Willie McKay is trying to broker a €40m move for French striker Sébastien Haller to go from Eintracht Frankfurt to West Ham United.

Cracking player, wanker of an agent.

Its difficult for Wolves, with Nuno, wanting to work with a small squad, and the first team already set, for me our priority was to get rid of the ones that will never play.
That said adding 2/3 to the squad is important.

Also are Villa this years Fulham..?
£80m spent, and a goalkeeper still to arrive.
Buying to stand still, or preparing for the drop?

The Iranian lad at Zenit, Azmoun, being linked with Liverpool. We still keeping tabs on him?

Reliably informed that 2 so far 'unnamed' players billeted in hotel in Wolvo. Announcements likely to be made next week, whilst team in China.

Are Fosun trying to make really BIG waves in China? Time will tell.

We have found ourselves in this situation before regards recruitment and previously spectacularly failed.
Having nailed the first season back in the Premier league this summer provides an acid test of scouting judgment.
Now do we add two or three fantastic talents who would be worthy of a top six squad or just fillers in case of injury.
Players who could make a mark at Arsenal or players who would be a good fit at Brighton.

I fear signing squad players such as Robert Skov and Edson Alvarez when the need is for a quality a level above.

Fingers crossed we are better this time around.

Yet another out....

Getting disappointing. I thought Ennis was a genuine talent and hope for the future. Does Nuno REALLY think the lad will improve with 3rd division coaching, and playing with and against 3rd division players than he would being coached by Premier people, and training every day with Premier players?

Seems odd to me. Unless Nuno has had a look and doesn't fancy him.... In which case, with Costa and Cav and Ennis and possibly Wilson all going, it begs the question "Who on earth is back-up to Jimenez, Jota and Traore??"

SURELY there must be forward signings on the way....????

Rumours of Wallace - a Brazilian CH who hasn't pulled up many trees as CH in Italy. Now not wanted.

Is he really an upgrade on Miranda? Seems a similar vein. I had hoped we were mining richer veins and seams than this!

Is he better than Hause would have been....?? Just asking!

Think we are really struggling to land targets and are unwilling to pay the ridiculous fees being asked for this season, bit worrying that Mendes hasn't even sent us a bargain or 2 either

The only hope is that Neves wasn't exactly setting the house on fire before he came either...

Don't think we can pay the wages others can, probably not first choice for the standard of players we are looking at as well.

Dani Olmo is the kind of young quality I would be looking at, Zagreb wouldn't turn down a fair bid.

Junior Firpo at Betis, left footed with massive potential.

Target young high quality.

I think thats where we have to look, some Vinagre types, but who knows what type of player we are targetting?

If its these young quality players I would be looking for those with the higher long term ceiling.

Just my opinion but Firpo could be the best defender of his age in Europe so you have to pay a little more to get the deal done..

Betis signed his replacement yesterday, a very good Argentinian left sided player, Bilic wanted him at the Albion.

Are you Jez Moxey in disguise? "It's like having a new player".

To be fair, he has had a couple of decent runs but the final ball still needs work.

He had a moment as did MGW but the pair of them play without thought.

You cant carry these sorts against quality sides.

Agree that it is between the ears that both seem to be lacking. Traore seems to want to learn & improve; hope MGW does too....

Hope MGW gives up the badge patting business. He had difficulty in remembering exactly where it was. I don't question his loyalty so I just want him to get on with doing what he can do best. That's good enough for me.

Linked to Patrick Cutrone from AC Milan, part of the Italian squad at this years under 21 tournament.

Came on for Kean against the Spanish and looked a handful.

There were a few Italians who looked worth scouting, Orsolini took my eye.

That sort of player is exactly what we need for this campaign and longer. Young, experienced and played for his country and will offer good competition to Jimmy and Jota without, hopefully, being a bad influence in the dressing room. I would rather Cutrone for us than Diego Costa.

This has happened before:

Rondon's wage demands were ridiculous:
