Wolves are in DESPERATE need of a striker in order to meet Fosuns ambitions for this season.
We look more than capable of holding our own in the Prem, however a regular goal scoring striker who thrives on half chances, let alone sitters! is the difference between a prem finish of 14th- 16th and a top ten finish.
The question is, WHO is THE striker?

Traore with Cav on the wing when he's fit.

It is the obvious position to upgrade now, even if we keep Leo it would still leave us with just three strikers.

Actually still short on LWB if Vinagre doesn't step up.

I think Vinagre will be a real star and he's holding his own at the moment.

Agree - and I still think Leo can do a job for us here. Another assist for him yesterday....

Not sure a "Striker" is what is needed in this Wolves team of now. I think a player like Da Silva or Eden Hazard or even the disgruntled Oizil might elevate this team to top 10 places, unfortunately tham costly ay it.

I think there's a bigger issue with the support strikers at the moment. I've no doubt that they will come good, but so far, on the whole they have been poor. Costa has shown some bright moments, but Jota has looked out of place so far and seems to have little idea how to create the sort of chances he was scoring last season. Jota has always faded in and out of games, but last season he would have a decisive impact when he was in the game. He's struggling with that this season.

Fair comment, toomb, the way Nuno sets up his team(s), the TEAM is the striker, the main striker is just a part of the machine as a whole. We score from all around the team, as we did a lot last season.

A spot-on assessment. However, on the basis that form is temporary but class is permanent I would expect Jota to start having a much bigger impact sooner than later.

I guess without knowing how much he is playing to instruction its difficult to know how Nuno feels about his performance.
Certainly the games so far have not suited his talents if we look at them individually.

What I would look for is for Jota to do more sprints past the central striker without the ball.

At the moment its provide the link to central midfield then run forward with the ball.

What I would like to see is, provide the link, get on the ball, pass into the central striker, make sprints past the striker.
Looking for the space beyond the opponents defensive line.

I never understood the value of stepovers.
In all the years I've been watching Messi I've never seen him do one,not even one.
Eye on the ball, thats it.Best get rid Ruben.

If theres one thing I hope the coaches work on at Wolves with Ruben Neves is the abilty to switch feet and play and receive off either one.
Something Luka Modric was brilliant at during the World Cup.
