Over an hour played and only 4 shots - just 1 on target, despite over 60% possession.

Come on guys - this just ain't good enough!

(And I am saying that not having seen or heard a single thing from the game - just the stats!)

Only managed to score ONE - well done to the youngster!

What a pity there will be no more games for him to show if he has what it takes....

We don't have that many games, chance for silverware and for fringe players to play so I wanted a good cup run.

They had a strong side out but thought we had the chances to win that, Cav had a sitter in particular. Disappointed but fair play to Danny Ward.

We are terrible at shootouts. Aside from the famous Sheffield Wednesday win in 95 we have barely won one since.

Why did every single shooter aim for the same corner? The keeper showed he was going to dive that direction each time and we kept serving them up for him!

Must be close to having the worst penalty shoot out record in footie!

Now that England have won one we may well have!

Even the youth team missed out on a bonus point earlier this month in the EFL Trophy by losing a shootout.

Just got back..

Positives.
Dendoncker looks a tidy player and didn't really put a foot wrong. Coady looked assured and Ruddy had an excellent game. Cav got some football under his belt even though he was a bit hit and miss. BAS's penalty.

Negatives.

Dis-jointed performance. We tried to pass it around at times, but with no penetration. Too much taking the safe option with nobody seeming to want to take responsibility. We had a terrible start to the game. Hardly touched the ball for the first twenty. Dendoncker apart, nobody made a case to be in the starting XI.
Traore had some nice touches but often chose the wrong option. Hause isn't the type of player for the system we play. Saiss looks bang average after being spoiled with Neves/Moutinho. Penalties were shockers, literally could have done better than Saiss and Jota myself.

Looked like a nasty injury to Demairi Gray, hope it's not too bad. Leicester deserved their victory. They were definitely the better side on the night.

Not our 'real' team so not too worried, but a few injuries to key players could scupper our top half ambitions.

Only one way to take a penalty - blast it as hard as you can.

If it hits keeper - unlucky. All this 'placing' nonsense gives the keeper far too good a chance.

BELT IT !!!

Our total failure rate in them is 69.2%.

Looking beyond the excellent Neves and Moutinho partnership, if either got injured we are weak insofar as replacements are concerned. I am very concerned this could scupper any prospect of a top ten finish. January reinforcement a must in my view.

Nuno seemed happy with performance. MGW apparently quite impressive.

Anyone on here GO who could give us feedback???

Watched the second half and was impressed by MGW, would look even better alongside one of Neves or Moutinho. Got to give the lad a chance to develop.

I saw the game and thought Gibbs-White did OK. He had a couple of decent dribbles that got the South Bank chanting "he's one of our own" but didn't really have any influence. He tended to pass the ball backward most of the time and got caught in possession a few times to boot.

I find it slightly concerning that an attacking player has still yet to score or get an assist to his name after 28 appearances, particularly given that the majority of those were in a dominant team in a league below. Yesterday he had a one of our best shooting opportunities (they were barely any to be honest) but hit it too straight to trouble the keeper.

Nuno, like any manager, is not going to dent confidence or momentum being overly critical after a loss in a match that clearly wasn't a priority.

To be honest our attack didn't function at all so Gibbs-White wasn't alone in not particularly excelling. Bonatini and Jota were outright bad. Caveleiro and Traore looked the only ones likely to conjure something up all night but that was all based on individual moments of skill rather than a well-functioning team. Leicester moved the ball around far better.

Agree with Shrops. Not one of MGW's better games IMO. Did have a couple of runs and showed some nice bits of skill at times, but on the whole was fairly ineffective and did surrender possession too easily, too often.

However, despite last night I think he does have the potential to be a good player for us. He's not going to be in Neves' bracket, but few are. He's decent back up and I think he looks better with better players around him.

How we miss our Portuguese central midfield. Let's hope they don't get injured and we are able to add another in the next transfer window.
