Have just been able to organise for Jimmy Mac to come to the match on Saturday - he played for both teams for those who are younger - if there are any "younger" ones these days. I hoped they'd do a pitch-side interview but they don't do those this season, it seems.

I've also asked if the DJ could play Jimmy Mac before kick off so if you hear it you know why!

I think it'll be a cracking game with us just shading it.

Nice one! Thought Jimmy Mac was a top player for us in an era when we gave any team a game. I seem to recollect his owning a garage in partnership with his brother at Lloyds Hill just at the end of the Penn Road. Is that right or am I dreaming again?
Hope you both enjoy the occasion. I used to shake a leg to the record in its day. Will just listen on Saturday with a smile.

A very good player was Jimmy McCalliog, a poacher of goals from midfield. I hope he enjoys his day out Saturday, a lot of younger fans will never have heard of him, sadly.

I remember Jimmy very well. Absolutely no pace at all but read the game very well.
The first stuttering penalty taker,I can remember Bob Wilson complaining to the ref about it.
I do remember his garage, but can't remember where it was.

It's all confirmed and the DJ has been asked to play Jimmy Mac but it's fingers crossed as to whether that will happen as a result of the generation difference!!

If anyone fancies meeting him he'll be in the museum around 12:00 and then on to the WV1 restaurant. I'll be in the museum, myself, so no pre-match drinks for me but I'll be in the Moon post match as per usual.

Pat Quirke has also asked for Jimmy Mac to be played pre-match, "...he plays in gold and black!"

It would have been 1967 when Jimmy Mac came to the attention of the English fans because he scored the winner which beat the World champions on their own pitch.

I doubt he had to buy many beers in his homeland because of scoring that goal. always had an eye for one did Jimmy.

And suddenly Scotland became "World Champions" but we'll let that one pass.

I think he also provided the pass for one of the others.

Here you are folks. If any of you want to go I'll be there and we can say "Hello" to each other. 8)

https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/club/2018 ... ux-return/

I don't want to get up my own backside about this although I'm really pleased that it's come off.

The point I want to make is about the culture of the club under Fosun which is so different to the last administration. Isn't it great...absolutely great that a lowly fan, which is exactly what I am, can come up with an idea and someone in the club sees the sense and value of it and takes the initiative within the club?

I can't wait for tomorrow and just hope that I don't oversleep and miss the train which is booked by LWSC earlier than usual!!

Thanks Dave. It was a very good day and Jimmy and his wife were both really friendly, down to earth people. I spent over 2 hours with them and we had some good laughs...and then we won.

I missed out on seeing Kenny H at his book signing at the old City Bar but got a pal to have him sign one for me.

Did Jimmy Mac get a free dinner and match ticket off the club?

He and his wife were given match tickets and after we left the WV1 bar some food was made available to them over in the Billy Wright. I don't know what because I had to go in the opposite direction. He sent me a picture text of him with Chris Kamara so perhaps whatever he was offered was made available to them.
