He didn't.

A few decent touches early on but too busy trying to make fancy flicks instead of getting hold of the ball and taking control. Faded after about 20 minutes anyway.

The "best" fancy flick was when he was cleverly played in on goal and simply flicked the ball backwards and jogged off to nowhere instead of taking the ball on to shoot!

One of his better first half performances showing an ability to find space between the lines.

Needs to then either drive forward with the ball or find the correct pass.

Cut out the flicks and use the instep or outstep as required.

Yep, I'll go with that despite some around me and on the train thinking he had a good game. Well, he was a bit better than he has been of late with some good passes but he isn't consistent enough for my liking.

Loan MGW out for part of next season. He needs a run of games to get him up to speed. A goal or two whilst there wouldn't come amiss for his confidence to be boosted.

As with Diogo Jota yesterday the decision making was piss poor, they both take the wrong amount of touches at times.
Sometimes when it should be one its three or more.
Sometimes when its a two touch situation its one or three or more.
Sometime when the space is there to drive forward which enables multi touch its one and two touch.
Two young players in development.

Should MGW play from now until the end of the season so Nuno has a better opportunity to evaluate him for next season.

I suppose that depends on whether you think we should go for 7th p[lace. Should we really indulge the lad, rather than pick on merit?

Quite simply he is not developing as he should. He lacks pace and gets caught with the ball. Is it lack of physical speed, or mental speed?? Is he too slow making decisions?

I too was amazed that several people - and indeed some newspapers reports - thought he had a good game. To me, the three or four occasions when he did his best recovery work was when he had created the problem himself with poor first touch & lack of control.

I am not alone in being really disappointed in the lad. Is it an attitude thing? Have too many people been telling him how great he is after his World Cup win? She working hard enough to improve speed and strength? Seems to be very lightweight in challenges.

And yes, I know he is 'only 18/19', but he seems to be going backwards not forwards.

What we need to break down sides is a central midfielder who will run AT the heart of defences, and force defenders to make decisions re who to mark.... Had hoped MGW might be the man, but....

Yet more outsiders who have probably never seen him play getting on the "Gibbs-White is going to be a major talent' bandwagon - this time Peter Crouch....

Why do lazy journalists and commentators and 'pundits' keep re-cycling this on flimsy evidence? It reminds me of the constant 'Kennedy's left-peg' being always 'sweet' and 'magical', because they saw two goals on MotD one year....

It does the lad NO FAVOURS when people keep saying this sort of thing; it makes him think it may be true. Nuno will be constantly reminding him that NO-ONE is a great player without WORKING at it incessantly, to get there, and to stay there!!

Hope he is listening to Nuno and not to the 'experts'!

I remember some bloke from Tottenham. Jamie O'Toole ? Margret O'Hara ? Whatever, same thing. Believed what the press said about his potential before he could actually deliver it. Shame.

We can relax a little in the knowledge Wolves staff are very professional in near everything they do. He is in good hands.

Well Ronan is starring for the type of team you meet in the Europa League so I would like to see both playing a full ninety minutes a fair bit more next season.

Surprised he has been signed up - unless it is just to improve this sell-on fee...? Or is that too cynical?

He's been playing well for a side that has qualified for the Europa League, and with Nuno wanting a small first team squad it's a no brainer for me that we keep Ronan around a bit longer, he does have some talent from the little I've seen of him

Surman and Lallana were slight technical players who took a bit longer to develop, better than the big lad for his age type. Worth persevering with now we have changed formation.

Ronan played in the League Cup defeat at Man City the season before last and had a good game and afterwards De Bruyne swapped shirts with him, much to Ronan's surprise. I saw him play second half in the 2-0 away win at Southampton in the League Cup and he played very well indeed. One player I have seen a couple of times for the U23's and has a bright future is Sadou Diallo, midfielder, keep an eye out for him.

There's a Portuguese kid who every Champions league club are chasing this summer at Benfica.

Over a hundred million to buy him this summer.

Six summers ago he was released by Porto because he was to small and fragile. Huge mistake.

Nothing to lose by keeping him. I imagine his wages are low and if he does happen to blossom, happy days. Even if he develops into a player that knocks around the lower leagues for most of his career he still has a value and we've protected our asset.

Thought he looked good playing in an AM role against a clearly superior Brazil. Some random people on twitter were also suitably impressed so I assume it isn't my gold tinted glasses playing up again.

Expect their roles to change next season as Ronan's star rises, while MGW falls away.

Any thoughts on MGW and his performance against Crusaders, a team thats Conference standard at best?

Talk of Bayern being interested. Might not be such a bad move for the lad as long as we get a couple of midfielders in.

Somebody needs to get hold of the lad he certainly needs some one on one tuition on the basics of receive then pass and move.

Its good that we have players such as Neves and Moutinho to better his focus.

I tried to watch MGW playing for the under21s last night with an open mind looking for positives within his play.

I could write paragraphs about what was missing from his game within a match that passed him by.

Removed on the hour, the lad was out of his depth.
