Not really Wolves, but Villa are looking in a sad way. Thumped by a relegation rival, and key player John McGinn has broken his ankle & is out for at least 3 months.

I know most on here enjoy any pain endured by West mids rivals, but I would love to see Villa, Baggies AND Wolves in the Prem together. (Draw the line at Brum...!). I like local rivalries and derbies, and when - as last year - our nearest rival geographically is Leicester, things just don;t look good for the West Midlands as a region.

Successful clubs lead to growth in the local economies, and enable teams to attract better players.

So - well done Baggies - keep it going, and good luck Mr McGinn for a full recovery.

(Cue loads of responses hoping Baggies implode, and Villa sell Grealish and go down to 3rd division...)

You live in an age on here silver that appreciates your input, regardless of how poisonous it may be to some
Ten years ago you would have been tracked down by numerous posters on here and ritually dry bummed by a tat mans hoss.
The-Wolf lives in both enlightened and rarefied atmospheres now, much like the team do at present.

If supporting Wolves for 50 years has taught me anything it is this, success is fleeting, memories both sour and sweet last forever, and yam onny one step away from falling flat on yer arse.

Wolves are the top team in the Midlands, Leicester doe count because tham nearly in the home counties, and when yam the top team, turn around to your fellow supporters at Christmas and warmly remind them before giving them the finger, gerrinto um an fuckemoff

Merry Christmas.

Merry Xmas Rozza, very funny and also true as well. :-)

Success comes in cycles, rewind back ten years and we were hanging on in the Prem before the two season implosions. Fast forward ten years and...…. :?:

You restore my faith....

Not sure The Wolf is any more representative of the 'typical Wolves fan' than Jezza's Labour Party was of 'the northern hard working man'.... (sorry KK!)

Massive game against Norwich, I hope they lose comfortably.

That PO defeat to the Baggies in the noughties still hurts, they seem to have inflicted some nasty defeats in recent times, if they come up lets send them back down. Happy for Villa to keep struggling in the Prem, easy six points.

No. For me, after the shenanigans of the Villa a couple of seasons ago I'd be pleased to see them sink without trace.
I'd rather have an Albion Derby, and I'd rather have them in the Prem than the Villa.

Villa need another relegation to eradicate the guff thinking their fans were spouting all summer long.

"We're coming for you"

They think they are but really? They’re a number of years off us unless we lose Nuno and implode. Villa may be a big club but they do not have the better team, we are a long way ahead.
So too with the Albion but at least they’ve been quietly going about playing football and getting themselves into the position to do something about it
.
Granted they may slip into the playoffs as they seem to be dropping a couple of points in too many games right now but at least they aren’t the arses that the vile fans are

...Christmas is love, Christmas is peace, a time for hating the Villa to cease.

I don't mind them, they're more deluded than some Wolves fans, and that's saying something.

The way they are playing, plus their best player is out, and after spending so much, and selling the ground to themselves, already, are they in danger of not just going down but looking at being ruined financially?

Watched their game at Watford, Villa were shocking.

Very few Premier league quality players in that squad.

The Keeper will be a big loss for them, less so the centre forward.

I hear they are looking in the Championship for replacements.

The league is so condensed any side - except Norwich - could move from the dropzone to the top half of the table with a few good results in a row.

(Equally Wolves could easily drop into lower midtable with a run of poor results).

There are basically 3 really strong football teams (1 world class) and the rest all have plenty of deficiencies. It's not a particularly high standard of a league at present. Burnley in particular are a disgrace to the "Premier League" tag.

Agree re Burnley. The sooner they go the better. A horrid side. Would you watch that weekly? (Well - I suppose we did watch some dross a few years ago; we kept going, and just moaned an awful lot on websites!)

Watching City destroy Villa it gives you an appreciation of how you could develop your side tactically.

The ability to drop into the half space, inside forward positions to enable a forward pass into them.
Then having runners through midfield taking the space defenders vacate.

Constantly asking questions of the opponents concentration levels and decision making.

Yep - he makes it all look SO easy. But as KK says, he has the people in front making all sorts of runs, and midfield also going past him & getting into box. We don't have the confidence to throw so many forwards. We need to.

Its not just confidence its the coaching and willingness of everyone to buy into combination play as a major factor in modern day attacking play.

At the moment Wolves are bereft of ideas.

I do wonder what half of these coaches are thinking when watching Neto and Traore especially.

I remember Moutinho as a younger player both for club and country being a wonderful link player in the Bernardo Silva mould.
He must be scratching his head at times.
