An alternative team of the season, not your usual suspects that get easily trotted out by two bit pundits up and down the land.

Just players that you like, players that have done well, young or old.

I could watch all of these players every day of the week.

-----------------------------------Heurelho Gomes.

--Timothy Fosu-Mensah-----Geoff Cameron--Robert Huth------Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.

Georginio Wijnaldum----Jonathan Walters---Darren Fletcher--Christian Eriksen.

----------------------------Shane Long---Jermain Defoe

The best individual display from a centre half i have seen this season came from Virgil van Dijk who made it look oh so easy.

Long balls were played forward and it was chest control then one touch passing into the right player in midfield.

He was marvelous in his simplicity.

I personally will show my bollocks on the balcony of the Vatican if any poster on here would have welcomed Robert Huth to Wolves prior to the epiphany of this season.
For Huth, see Paul Butler, same as, hindsight however has the ability to elevate a person to the heights only the internet can achieve.

That useless **** Pearson signed him on loan in the January 2015.Being a centre half himself i bet Pearson had no say in signing him and needed all his backroom staff to brief him on what he would bring to the team.
I think we are after a similar signing,Thelwell has his sights on the lesser known journeyman Robert Hoof who he says will be perfect for our defence.Think we are bringing him in on a £20,000 a week three year contract but due to injury he will be fit in 2020.

Thats true.

But would Robert Huth been a good fit, we will never know.

We fall into the trap of thinking if a player does well at one club he will automatically do well at another.

I think if Robert Huth signs for Villa rather than Jo Lescott they still get relegated because the other defenders leave him exposed.
Once exposed you see his limitations.

The experienced player I wanted at Wolves was Jo Lescott who must have wished he had chosen Wolves himself.

I did shout often and loud for Danny Drinkwater to Wolves, a player who under a far better manager at Leicester now gets full opportunity.
Back in the summer a smart bid probably buys you the lad and the Leicester story never happens.
Thats football.

Tom Carroll is a free agent it seems. Now thats my kind of player. Him in the middle with Price and Evans. You will really have a talented quality midfield. I can just see the vision and range of passing of Carroll and Evans, giving the exciting attacking players the ability to stretch there legs and attack teams. But can also see the 3 passing teams off the park with quick and slow passes. Probably best midfield in the division in terms of passing.

Shame we will end up seeing Edwards, Coady and Saville there instead. Playing boring and uninspiring passes. predictable, plain and every game. But don't worry, they might get a goal between the hours of shite.

For me, the midfield is the base of a team, you need creativity, imagination and ability there. I don't care about size or heart. I don't want 50/50's hoofs hoping to win the knock down, be in control, dictate the game and play though teams. Whats the point of having Graham and Dicko in the team if you aren't going to give them the best service possible. Give them the option to run behind and run at players.

Carroll Price Evans
Wallace Dicko Graham

Now for me, that front 6 would cause teams a whole lot of problems and is a whole lot better then anything this year. Smart footballers surrounded by smart footballers, that also have the outlet of pace and the ability to beat players one on one.

Of course it's a bit lightweight, but wouldn't pressing aggressively high up he pitch solve that. We have the athletes at the back for the high line. Is Batth that slow over a distance, because I think he's only slow on the turn and over the first 15 yards. Is he that much slower then Pique??

Carroll is a good shout, probably be looking higher than us.

De Bruyne is the best player in the Prem, Chelsea must be livid.

A German international with 250 Premier League appearances behind him? If we'd have gone for him last summer I'd have been delighted - would always have thought he'd be an upgrade on our defenders

The name of a certain Mr McCarthy would have been used in the same sentence as Mr Huth if we had bought him, I assure you.

If your looking for a positive this summer when thinking of Wolves you can take one from the Huth Leicester City season and relate it to Wolves.

Far to often a fan gets conditioned to look for certain skill sets when evaluating a player, the brain tends to go very black and white when filtering information.

Two characteristics.

Good on the ball, technical quality.

Good without the ball, - Smart and intuitive.

And thats the failure, its the failure of even the best of coaches, the inability to accept their are other qualities at play which enable effective performance.

So when you look at a player in any side who may look ordinary on the ball and also may look as though he lacks positional sense.
Stand back and rewind your thought patterns and try and get to grips as to why in a collective that particular player helps create a winning formula.

And Dier in the midfield role, if he gets a range of passing going.

Who are the two English players playing in the Premier league who pass the ball best from wide positions into the penalty area.

Lets accept a flawed strategy like England had last night.

You have backed your opponents up creating a 3-4-3 system for yourself.

Two centre backs and a holding player to cover the counter attack.

What changes to last nights starting eleven. Your not being asked to defend very much so could you add Stones who could break into midfield with the ball.

Yes, a possible substitution for Cahill.

Because of bad spacing and poor combinations, not worked on correctly during training your midfield gets grouped together. As you saw last night.

So your getting repeat situations where Rooney, Dier and Henderson are looking for the same ball in the same area of the pitch.
You only require one if you create an effective system of play.

The next stage is who does that player play into, wide player and a centrally high midfield player.

Front that you add runners past the ball and a striker/strikers.

And then the coaching takes over.

From that platform the hours you coach creates the movement around the ball that gives you passing options,
As much by moving your own marker to create space for a team mate.

Remember the key to success is as much about moving your opponents block as it is about your own quality.
If from the touchline your making it easy for the oppositions defenders by not moving them about, figure out what your doing wrong.
Work on your players making movements to move everyone out of a small zone so that space opens up for another.

Leeds Utd.

What are they playing at.

Last week quite a few clubs were after Alex Mowatt.

A reporter for the Yorkshire post, said Leeds were knocking back offers and were asking for in total 6 million pounds.
That would include a buy back clause and a 50% sell on clause.

Then he signs for Barnsley for a fee which isn't published.

Barnsley dont pay top dollar.

Sad news for those of us who loved the Ajax team of the late sixties early seventies the great Piet Keizer has passed away.
Wonderful player, so gifted.

Did you support Ajax during those golden years?

Gerry Hitchens, John Charles, Denis Law, Joe Baker.

Anyone know anything about this, why wearing Italia?

Well if I were to hazard a guess I would say that the fact that all 4 of them played in Italy (all in the same city too - 3 x Torino and Charles at Juventus) - maybe they were all there at the same time.

Because they played for Italy...well the Italian League.

The picture was taken in Scotland, before the inter league game in 1961.

One of them was an ex miner born in Cannock, Rawnsley to be exact.

Its those buildings in the background that scream Glasgow, it used to be the tenement capital of the UK.
It looks to me that they are training on what was Mini Hampden a large grassed area next to the main stadium, to the Rangers side of town, Celtic would come from the other side.

I just could never recollect those four players playing together at any one time, the photograph just surprised me.

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of 24-year-old Brazil international Luan, who turned down the offer of a new contract at Gremio last month. (Daily Mirror)

Watching the new Brazilian team this lad was the stand out for me, loved his performances. So intelligent.
Great signing.

Watford are considering a move for 22-year-old Montpellier forward Steve Mounie, who is also a target for West Brom. (Mail on Sunday)

I looked at him last season and thought he would be ok at Wolves for a push at winning the Championship.

Premier league, not quite but could grow into a player in a couple of seasons.
