Say what you like about Defoe, he has become a hero in EVERYONE's mind.

Despite having Sunderland, he has promised to get to see the lad Bradley -with weeks to live - as much as possible after return from England duties. He phones Bradley's mum every day for an update.

To hear him speak of being 'blessed' to have been able to share in Bradley's tragic life is an object lesson to ALL footballers in humility.

I hope that wherever he plays next year, EVERY set of supporters will cheer him to the rafters for showing that not ALL Premiership footballers are selfish, egotists who thin only of money and themselves.

Well done, Jermaine - the football world is proud of you.

An example to all Premier league footballers, I hope they find time to do such work in their football community.

Bradley's story is so sad, and Defoe has been fantastic.
Some positives have come out of a tragic story, with Defoe attempts to make the lads last days better
