Surely with Senor Rooney's wealth of knowledge and experience and indeed wealth, Derby can only prosper with him at the helm, innit?

I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole.

Thick as mince and will end up bankrupt.

Next year's pre-season for Derby will be a month long holiday in Las Vegas...

I really don't understand this one. I thought at first this was another old England pal joining Frank Lampard's Derby County, but then I remembered this is now Frank Lampard's Former Club Derby County and that Philip Cocu is in charge, so who knows...

... maybe Derby need somebody rich enough on the payroll that they can sell their stadium to him next year to balance the FFP books?

You do wonder who is advising the owner of that club when it comes to football matters.

Having previously hired that kid off Sky TV who has been on a few coaching courses then thinks he knows the game.
Yet opens his mouth and talks absolute bobbins about the game.

Rooney next, well at least they can share a room.

I would sooner listen to David Cassidy's greatest hits on loop.

Not sure why Cocu would agree to this? Seems pretty obvious if things go poorly when Rooney gets there, he'll get the axe and Rooney will take over. I'd quit if I were him.

Also, Rooney is going to be dead tired by the end of this season. Started playing MLS in March, won't get a break until May. Man at his age, don't see the point of signing him all that much, other than the publicity.
