Mods, any chance of making a sticky for all the non-Wolves transfers going through this summer?

One of the first ones looks to be James Vaughan to Norwich - http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/pre ... es-vaughan

Vaughan was the prems youngest ever goalscorer for a while and was set for big things before he was struck by a series of injuries. He still has age on his side so could come good. Having said that, Everon have a history of golden boy strikers not fulfilling their potential - Branch, Cadamarteri, Jeffers. Rooney turned out ok though.

Had Fergie not come to his rescue, Rooney would have turned into the new "Gascoigne" imo.

West Ham are poised to make a move for Manchester United keeper Tomasz Kuszczak.

Kuszczak, 29, is out of contract with the Premier League champions and will become a free agent in the summer.

that'd do me nicely to go with the squad if we lost the dead wood of Jones, Edwards, Hanmehan, Vokes, Berra, Mouyokolo, Hoff and a couple of others ..... most would fit into our wage structure also you would guess

Barton is still under contract for one more year and Newcastle have only said they wont be offering him a new one. They havent said he is avaliable for a transfer this window.

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has dismissed newspaper reports that the FA Cup finalists have made a bid for West Ham United striker Carlton Cole.

It was claimed that the Potters had made a club record £9m offer for the 27-year-old England international.

This has to be a forum pisstake that the papers have picked up on, surely? Is there any way in the world that Carlton Cole is worth £9 million? How could it have been taken seriously?

Peterborough United have accepted an offer from a Premier League side for striker Craig Mackail-Smith.

The 27-year-old is set to quit London Road after helping the Posh to victory in Sunday's League One play-off final.

[...]

Reports are suggesting Everton, Wigan and newly-promoted QPR are all chasing the former Dagenham & Redbridge man.

On Tuesday Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony said: "At the moment there is anywhere between eight and 11 clubs involved.

"We've got two concrete offers and when you get into an auction you always try and push those offers up.

"It will be done in the next couple of weeks but regardless of the Craig thing we'll be pushing ahead with our targets."

They're trying to sign a third striker? Sounds like they're taking a leaf out of Mick's book!

EDIT - It appears I have misread. Need to wake up.

Swansea could be set to smash their transfer record after having a £3.5million bid for striker Danny Graham accepted by Watford.

Brendan Rodgers, a long-time admirer of Graham, initially saw a £3m offer rejected by the Hornets soon after Swans gained promotion to the Barclays Premier League courtesy of last Monday's play-off final victory over Reading at Wembley.

But the south Wales club returned with an improved offer which Press Association Sport has confirmed Watford accepted over the weekend, paving the way for talks over personal terms with the forward who bagged 24 league goals last season to top the npower Championship's scoring charts.

He scores goals no doubt, and he's certainly right at the top end of the players Swansea can attract as a new team to this level and getting here via the play offs.

It isn't 20mil plus N'Gog. It's being widely reported as 13mil cash plus N'gog being valued at 7mil.

Henderson has played 70 times in the Premier League, has international experience and the price is inline with what James Milner went to Villa for.

That's crazy. If they sign Varane and Jones they still have Smalling and Evans for that CB spot. Unless they see Jones as a midfielder in the long run or they see Evans as not making the grade then I don't understand why they are making this transfer.
