Okay, so good business imo. We kept all our best players, including Sako. We lost Ward, O'Hara and Doumbia permanently. Doyle is gone until January. We brought in two midfielders and VLP, all permanently. We need competition for Dicko, but I don't agree with those who think Dicko isn't good enough for this level, and anyway the loan window reopens before we play again.

Dicko scored a great goal on Saturday, got an assist, and set up Doherty quite cleverly for the double chance he was unlucky with. He's okay imo.

Yep, I think we have done well. I would have liked Bamford or Wood, but who knows what lies ahead.
We see a lot of clubs bringing in players and think they will all be successful and strengthen those clubs, but that isn't necessarily the case.

We have a good recent record in the transfer market and should trust those charged with the task of strengthening the squad.

Muss, he's alright...until he pulls his banjo string, then we'll need to get a tune out of Clarke.

From footy365 transfer goss today...

Stoke City and Wolves are keeping tabs on Peterborough centre-back Ricardo Santos.

Never heard of him. Seems an odd one as he only signed for Posh in Feb and has only played for them once according to Wiki.

We've been looking at young central defenders, so it does ring vaguely true. He's signed a three and a half year deal with Posh though, as you know, so I imagine we would be forking out too much for him. Interesting one.

Wish he had more chances to show his celebration, but has hardly been prolific.... Is he really what is needed?

I don't know how Dicko did at Wigan, but he did alright at Rotherham. However, has this chap played much, or even below the EPL? Given that it's a loan, the club can afford to take another punt, as they have nothing to lose. And I will ask again, unless Kenny wanted to defuse Coventry last season, why else did he bring Clarke back to the club? Remember, Blackburn game aside, we're averaging less than a goal a game...

Brilliant video; part pisstake, part celebration. The E&S have probably just drawn a name out of the hat though, or somebody else has and they are running with it.

Another possible downside is that IF we loaned him and IF Zambia are in the African Nation's Cup then, we would probably lose him, Sako & Dicko leaving us with Clarke and McAlinden unless Cassidy is due back after the New Year?

Great point about the ACN, Mossie. We're bound to be looking at players who won't be going to it. We would be very unlikely to take an African player at this stage.

Dicko looked not great up until Rotherham used him up front. He was being used wide until then, as far as I know. When we took him on loan the first time around, I think we only played him as a wide man.

Saints are waiting for work permit clearance foe Sadio Mane. I suspect if Mankula does come it depends on the outcome of this

West Ham youngster Elliot Lee, 19, is the latest striker to be linked with Wolves, along with Fulham.

from E&S.

19,16-12-1994; 5ft 11.

If you throw in the U21 games, he has a goal about every two hundred minutes on the pitch. Could be okay, if the rest of his game is good.

True.
KJ has distanced himself from a move for Elliot Lee and hinted he would prefer a more experienced strike if someone did come in on loan.

http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/201 ... er-return/

That would be interesting.

He would have to be bringing something McAlinden doesn't have, otherwise it would be pointless, I agree

We generally get the first ASDA sighting 48 hours after this. :P

Seriously, I doubt it will happen too.

Kei Kamara, free agent, released by Middlesbrough last month.

Is it correct that he was training at Compton today?

Shouldn't he be in quarantine?

Sierra Leone captain Kei Kamara has likened the devastation caused by the Ebola outbreak in his country to "a sci-fi zombie movie".

Nearly 500 people have died in his country alone from Ebola, while another 1,600 people have perished from the virus in other West African nations.

"I was there when it broke out," the former Premier League striker told BBC World Service's Sportsworld programme .

"People didn't take it that seriously at the time - it's too late now."

The virus spreads between humans by direct contact with infected blood, bodily fluids or organs, or indirectly through contact with contaminated environments.

Joined Norwich in January 2013 and scored one goal in 11 league appearances

After a brief stint in the MLS with Kansas City, he spent last season at Middlesbrough, starting 16 league games and scoring four goals.

Didn't Villa pay £24m for him when he was flavour of the month four or five years ago?

Crazy to think that he's been consigned to the football scrapheap already.

West Ham are looking to offload former £35m Liverpool misfit Andy Carroll in January too.

Maybe we should get the pair of them in, and see Moxey keel over when they flop.

If that happens they'll be a competitive team. All they lack is a striker and he can certainly pull a rabbit out of the hat.
