Isn't that where he played most?

You are probably right, warn. I've just spent a few minutes trying to remember how we were setting up the first half of last season, and I get confused. I thought we generally had Henry right and Sako left and when Jacobs played it was normally through the middle as a 10? I know when we signed him he was described as a winger, and I know he did play as a winger for us, because I remember being annoyed that he wasn't in the middle. Just going from highlights and comments though, he seems far less dangerous wide.

Bradley Reid to Telford United until the end of the season.

Also, Zeli Ismail is now back in training.

I will investigate Nibbs, but I think he played on the wings more than at 'No 10'.

They are sitting bottom of the Conference, hopefully they try to make a late miraculous push though and Reid is involved in some meaningful matches.

I didn't realise that. Tough test for them today as well. No team news on that one.

Saville, Cassidy, McAlinden and Carter all on various benches dotted around the country. Clarke not in Wigan squad. So if Reid starts his game he will be the only one.

Reid played all of AFC TU 1 Woking 3, having a few shots and getting booked. If anybody hears more, please share.
McAlinden played second half of Fleetwood 1 Rochdale 0.
Cassidy got on for the last few minutes of Dagenham 1 Southend 3.
Neither of the others got off the bench.

I forgot Michael Jacobs, who played the first 71 of Blackpool's defeat at Bournemouth, on the left wing.

Famous left winger Michael Jacobs starts for Blackpool v Charlton (who include our old boy Mr Johnson).
McAlinden starts for Fleetwood at home to Coventry.
Saville is on the bench for Bristol City at home to Crewe.
Leon Clarke starts for Wigan at home to Watford.

  • Jacobs played 59 of Blackpool 0 Charlton 3, before being replaced.
  • McAlinden played 73 of Fleetwood 0 Coventry 2, before being replaced at 0-0. Coventry are quite low in the table, and this was a nasty defeat for Fleetwood.
  • Saville didn't get on. Bristol City won easily.
  • Clarke played all of Wigan 0 Watford 2.
  • Carter didn't get on for Chesterfield, who won 3-0.
  • Reid played 80 minutes, and Telford lost 0-1. They are almost mathematically down.

Cassidy is on the bench for Southend tonight. They face Burton away. Burton are top of the league, Southend need to make up six or seven points in ten games to get automatic promotion to League 1, and are currently in a play-off spot. Big tough game this.

Why is Saville still there? Waste of time.

He might play at Wembley on Sunday, v Walsall. Anyway, it would be an even worse waste of time if he came back. :D

Horrible loss for Southend tonight. At HT they led 0-1 and Burton were down to ten men. In the second half Burton clawed back level at 1-1. With just a few minutes left, Southend went for it, bringing on Cassidy. Not long afterwards they conceded and lost 2-1. Still in play-off position, but a chance to close the gap on automatic promotion thrown away.

Ashley Carter didn't get on. Chesterfield lost 1-0 at Peterborough. This was a six-pointer; Chesterfield's hopes of reaching the play-offs have been dented but it's still on.
Cassidy didn't get on. It was a 0-0 draw against a lower team, so this is a disappointment.
McAlinden on bench. Didn't get on.
Clarke played all of Wigan 1 Bolton 1. They got a late equaliser and might still escape the drop.
Jacobs played all of Blackpool 1 Leeds 1.

I guess this hints that Cassidy and McAllinden won't be playing at a higher level, any time soon. They were given opportunities in Wolves first team, Cassidy, more than enough, and now they're warming the bench in the lower leagues. Hard knock life, being a professional footballer, unless you're mustard.

No, I'm fairly sure he has not. I don't have figures for assists, but I haven't noticed him getting many. He got 3 goals in 16 games for Notts Co earlier in the season. He's just turned 22, and his contract is up in a few months' time, but we have a year's option. McAlinden is contracted until 2016, and is a few months younger.

Telford are at Braintree tonight. Telford close to mathematically relegated. Bradley Reid starts.

Did anyone watch it?

Telford won 0-2. Reid won the pen for the first goal. They remain bottom. There are rumours that some clubs might be in enough financial difficulties that Telford might escape even if they finish in the drop zone. Not likely if they finish bottom though.

Jon Flatt's gone to Chesterfield for the remainder of the season. Step up for him. Ashley Carter is already there.
