This poll has now reached its conclusion and we STILL have no result.Just what the hell is happening here. What the flipin floppin heck could be more important on a Saturday night than arsing about on here.
The rightful winners of this charade of a poll should have been informed and in post by now and the only reason that I can see that they are not, is the crass indolence and shocking indifference of them lazy bastard Mods.
If I was you Lee I would fuck em all off and just start again with the two winners, whichever ones get picked   , know what I mean.

Fuck my old boots  , its gunna be more fun in the staff room now than ebola in a Wacky Warehouse.

If the POLL results are anything to go by then, you have Left Back and Ironfistmonk as OUR new MODs. Congratulations to both and and ever bigger congratulations to those that didn't win.

From a personal point of view I do not hate anyone. I think this forum is well moderated and I have no issues with anyone on the moderation team.

Well done to both Left back and Ironfistedmonk, you are going to make great additions to the Mod team. I am a tad busy today but will get you all set up during this week. Take these few days to enjoy not being prodded, probed, questioned, accused and goaded, the easy life ends here ;-)

Thanks to everyone that voted :clap2

Thank you Mcdogs. Am I allowed an acceptance speech? Well here goes anyway.

Thank you for those who voted for me. I'm genuinely surprised by the number that did. Congratulations also to IFM, we can have fun together in the staff room now.

Seriously, I do want to say that I enjoy this forum and I want it to thrive so I will do the best I can to help. I hope I can be objective and fair and I will try to help with queries which arise. You may have to bear with me while I learn the technical bits though, not my strong suit.

One member PM'd me to ask if I would commit to submitting for re-election after 12 months. As I responded, I think the decision about that rests with McDogs (assuming I last that long) but I am happy to do so if that is felt appropriate.

One again, thank you and I will do my best.

Now, where do I go to sort out the contract details - rates of pay, hours, holidays etc. 8)

82 people voted on this thread. A shame that most of them do not contribute more to the forum.

I blame Hoddle, Saunders...and the mods - particularly that iron man and left back.

I look forward to when Mr Back gets called a bell end by one of the newly recruited premier league yute next year for disagreeing with their truth and the way.

By the way, do I need to order a Lambretta and dig out my old Parka?

Kin'ell....I want my vote back....
A zero to hero result Mr LB.... I remember the days you would drive folk to distraction with your terrier like reluctance to let go of a point of view, even if you were the only one thinking it.
I trust you will not let me down, and forget your humble beginnings....
By the way, Rozza told me to call you a bell end.... 8)

I only did that when I was right. 8)

Is bell end referring to my loon pants in some way?

A couple of things, now that the dust has settled:

1. Shouldn't Moderators be voted for each year, that is, start afresh, and vote for the ones who put themselves forward, with a given manifesto/agenda?

2. Of the 'usual' Mods, who actively mod, or contribute much to the Forum?

Cally, wolfman169, Rozza, clockwolf, STOKIE, Muz

I don't think every year is necessary, the current mod team has been together for a long time and repeated changes would disrupt things too much (IMO). The vote was brought in after a suggestion put forward after Lee asked for input, so I don't know what the plans are, but I'm sure if enough want a vote then Lee may consider it.

The trouble is that if we are bringing in new mods every so often then others will need replacing or else everyone will be a mod! This puts Lee in a difficult position if no one decides to step down as he would have to relieve someone of their duties, a decision I don't think he'd be willing to do. One way to do it could be every year or so to see if a mod wants to step down, if not we carry on, if so, one is selected/voted for.

It will be interesting to see the views on this, I got the impression that the mod vote idea was supported by a small majority and has created more hassle than necessary.

From the original Gang Of Six, who do you think would be prepared to step down, as they are not very active on the Forum? I think the vote has polarised opinion a bit, and I can't recall if Lee publicly asked for opinions on what members would actually like to see done, or rather, there wasn't an agreed 'to do' list, but either way, it's will be interesting to see whether the newbies can bring anything new and positive to the running of the Forum.

Mods and Admin steer the way a forum is run and to a degree the tone and make up of it's members.

This is not "The Mix" or whatever, this is the The Wolf.

If folk don't like it, there are alternatives. Over the years we have lost for a variety of reasons a vocal "yute" on the board. The need for this to be addressed is obvious to keep the thing going.

Radical revolution may attract back a crowd of spotty frogs who join in during the good years and disappear when times are hard, but if that's the board you want, sit back get, your tin hat on and enjoy. I and a great number of other folk who "contribute" (you don't have to like what I write, but I contribute), would/will leave you to it

My two bobs worth would simply be that Mods who obviously are missing in action for a length of time should be politely asked if they wish to continue and if they continue to be elsewhere, politely asked to step down. The "yute" should be encouraged and sympathetically moderated in their formative months of membership. There's always more than one way to skin a cat.........init.

Embers, in reply to you all the mods are very active on the forum. Only stokie isn't and he has stepped aside and we've gained 2 new mods.

Just because people don't post doesn't mean they're not online viewing the forum and moderating, despite what kk may believe

Wise words from Suiging.

I don't really understand this new-fangled technology, but appreciate that a completely unfettered and 'unregulated' site just becomes a place where the pathetic and unbrave can pretend to be what they ain't, and be abusive and aggressive without foundation.

A bit like those mindless idiots who stand behind fences and cordons of police and stewards shouting abuse and threats at opposition supporters, safe in the knowledge they are protected from facing the consequences of their outbursts. If confronted, they usually run a mile!
