This finished 2-2, but no other details yet, except that Ojo didn't score.

FT Swaziland 0-0 Nigeria

Clean sheet for Ikeme, but I think they'll be disappointed with that result.

If you have BT Sport 2, you might want to watch the England U19 v Japan U19 friendly which kicks off at 3.00. Ojo was supposed to be in the squad, but he was named in the subs before the game in Holland and then after the game was named neither as having gone on nor in the 'subs not used' part. Then he cropped up unexpectedly in that friendly in Liverpool. This is the game at Man City's academy stadium.

Ojo is on the bench:

Image

I missed one on Friday, as the ROI U19 lost at home to Slovenia, who scored with their only shot and then held on for the result. Connor Ronan was on the bench and got about twenty minutes at he end. He's missed an age group out though, as he's not 18 until March. ROI v Latvia is tonight, kick off 7.30 in Galway, and the Irish need to win to keep alive their hopes of qualification to the Elite stage.

ROI U19 3 Latvia 0. Connor started this time and I think he played it all. He got the assist for the third goal, from the sound of it. ROI v Scotland in about three days' time.

Iorfa starts for England U21 v Switzerland at Brighton. Kick-off 5.45. A glance at the table shows how big this game is, and how poor a result the goallesss draw in B&H was.

HT 0-1. Swiss score right on the break. England U21 have now played three consecutive halves without scoring.

The fourth half went okay though. It finishes 3-1 to England. I'm fairly sure Iorfa got the whole game. Duncan Watmore was MOTM, but he played less than 20 mins. England trailed 0-1 when he came on. Late flurry.

Carl Ikeme starts for Nigeria at home to Swaziland at about 3.00, needing to win and make up for the disappointing draw a few days ago. It's a straight home and away cup tie, with the winner going through to the group stage of World Cup qualification. So Nigeria need to avoid a score draw or a loss.

HT Nigeria 0-0 Swaziland. Very poor stuff. If they concede now they're fucked, pretty much.

Ten minutes left, still 1-0. Nigeria are well above Swaziland in the rankings. They should have sorted this tie out ages ago. But if they concede in the next ten plus stoppage they might go out without even reaching the group stage.

1-1 at HT, but Romanian keeper red-carded just before HT for retaliation.

Far too many plaudits for Iorfa's performance in particular in U21s v Swiss at weekend, but good to see him and Hause both getting picked. Can we get a decent run next year to increase chances of keeping both??? Or are we just a club that develops youngsters and sells them on?? (Not that to has done Southampton any harm...!!)

Dernjerus is having a very good game on the international stage against what should be decent opposition but the rumour in some quarters on here is that he's crap so I can't be right. :smt017 And Dean Saunders hasn't yet made a fool of himself but what do I know about football?

I thought Dave Edwards tried really hard given the limitations of his own game, his concentration and disciplines were a testament to a player doing his best.
