The finale.

A nothing match, both teams on the beach.

Anyone for Ice Cream.

Forecast.

4 nil to the home side.

 You're having a joke.
Regardless of tonight's result, Liverpool can't afford to slip up. They'll need to win so won't have their sun tan lotion on yet.

Not sure whether to expect a Sunderland for this one, or whether our boys will be up for it knowing the eyes of the world will be on them.

3-1 to the bad guys.

Liverpool have twice won the league playing Wolves on the last day, will they make it three.

Nah, can't see Citeh not beating Brighton. I think we'll enjoy next week far more dan dem Scousers, except for Conor Coady.

If Liverpool are leading at HT and City only drawing or even worse for them, losing, then all is possible. Do not write either Brighton or ourselves off, we both want to end the season on a high note and they also do not want to roll over and have their tummies tickled. This could go down right to the last ten minutes of both games or even later or down to a contested referee's decision. One of the best title chases for years. Not the Ligue 1, not the Bundesliga, not La Liga, not Serie A....the Premier League is top of the lot at present.

As long as we do not concede very early on, we will frustrate them and catch them out counter attacking. 2-1 to the Babbies.

I fancied Leicester to hold Citeh, but skipper's wonder strike not accounted for.

Brighton will be similarly determined. And Citeh HAVE lost 4 games this season - including at home to Palace! Who predicted that? OK - so Palace have forwards, and Brighton don't - but Citeh's forwards and MF relied on a creaking CH to get a winner last night....!

Our game will be interesting. We MUST NOT conceded in first 15 minutes, after which crowd - and players - will get very edgy.

I will enjoy every minute, whatever the outcome!

Well I suspect Liverpool will be on somewhat of a high going into this one!

I'm unsure that we'll field our strongest team tbh and once we alter that XI, the whole machine grinds to a halt.

The depth of the benches of the top six, the only gap we need to breach.

Amazing result. Fair play to them, the atmosphere at Anfield for the big European nights really is unique.

My heart says we’ll get a draw but my head says we’ll lose by two or three. Hoping Liverpool’s injuries disrupt them slightly, and hoping we put out our usual starting 11.

Don’t have the time to fully investigate, but are we now in a very small group of two along with Man City that has beaten all the European finalists in the same season?

I would say yes....

The last three times a PL team has been top on Christmas Day and not won the league:

Liverpool 08-09
Liverpool 13-14
Liverpool 18-19

Reasonable effort, considering we had nothing to play for.

We probably deserved a goal out of it overall but against the very best you need a little more sharpness and it was (understandably) lacking.

Unfortunate first goal which was obviously a game changer. Jiminez left his shooting boots at home today. Our best players for me today were Coady and Johnny.

Beaten by the better team. We weren't miles away and might have got a goal out of it on an other day but the extra class told. Clearly we are well short of the top 2 but the gap to the next 4 could be bridgeable if we spend well this summer and continue to progress. I guess the likes of Leicester, Watford, West Ham and Everton will be thinking the same too though.

PS The officials were absolute homers all game long, culminating in their offside second goal.

The last VAR-free league game for a while....

Bit of trivia for you the Dutch coach to the side of Klopp worked for Porto youth and helped Ruben Neves through his youth career.
