I'm excited for this season, but it can take time to get this sort play-style to bed in.

We absolutely thrashed Reading 2nd game of last season, they just couldn't cope with getting pressed and kept losing the ball in their own half as they tried to play keep-ball. I remember many comments about how Stam was out of his depth and you couldn't play this way in the champ, etc. By the end of the season though they were unlucky not to get promoted. Using pretty much the same players.

So while I hope (and expect) Wolves to be a top 6 team this season, I won't be too worried if results aren't amazing for the first 5-6 games or so. Expect us to struggle a bit vs high pressing teams (which Boro are one) but also win our fair share.

Its like buying a best selling book and opening page one.

The start of a great adventure, to be enjoyed.

Bring it on.

Fair post, and I remember that Reading game well, and on a sunny day, Molineux was a happy place to be, with Zenga in the dug-out.

I wonder if Wolves have scouted Boro at all, during pre-season? I suspect an entertaining game, but will take an entertaining draw, right now.

Looking forward to the match. Our creativity looks very exciting. Costa still to come back remember!

My only reticence is our lack of proven goal power. Strangely, we don't seem to have signed a nailed-on goalscorer. Leo is a gamble. Nouah may not even be fit to play. Mason hasn't proven his worth. Enobakhare is still to score a first-team goal.

Hopefully, we can still sign someone to more or less guarantee us 20 goals. It may be the difference between ultimate success or failure.

Ever since a Twitter piece said that Dicko was injured and not fit to take part in the Peterborough friendly a week ago, I fear it is something serious and we have kept quiet about it thus far, so as not to be gazumped if trying to buy a replacement....hope that I am wrong but something is not right..the silence about him speaks volumes.

One Boro player I will look out for early in the piece is Marten de Roon just to see how high Garry Monk will use him this season.

Of his type to get at players, to win the ball back or to make teams turn and play sideways or backwards he may be the best in the Championship.

Keep a look out for him. Marten de Roon.

Silence is golden. Or so the song goes. I'm not sure the virtual news blackout by Nuno is a good thing or bad. It inevitably leads to rumours and guesswork e.g., is Dicko slightly injured, more seriously injured, or being wrapped in cotton wool in lieu of Saturday? I hope it's the latter.

It looks like Nuno is going to give an obligatory pre-match interview this afternoon, so we may be wiser later on today.

Just watched Nuno's interview.

"100% we are ready for Middlesborough", says the boss. In Nuno we trust.

That video shows just how important the wing backs are. They basically let you feel like you're playing with 12 men. Always have someone spare both in attack and in defence. IF they put the hard work in and track back / get forward when asked to. Graham could be our Moses. Winger turned wing back.

Quality, might have to buy one, although with the Dudley Street club shop, now gone, and by the time I roll out of the pub, they'll be sold out down the ground.

Looks like one place is up for grabs alongside Jota and Bonatini with the other positions pretty much sorted.

Will he go Dicko, Bright or Graham.

I think Nuno goes Bright.

Yet to score a first team goal. Personally I'd go Graham.

I'd go for Graham to start as well.

Think Bright might get the nod - has had more game time than others, and possibly slightly more reliable (though not much) when opposition have the ball...??

Does anyone else get fed up with BBC and others publishing a 'league table so far', which inevitably has Villa as 1st, and us as 24th??

Wish Wycombe would hurry up and get promoted....

Golden Graham for me.

A tough start and first few games, patience is required all round.

Likewise Traore if he starts, and Braithwaite.

Hoorah!!

Derby goal at Sunderland moves Villa off top AND - more importantly - us off bottom.

By end of tonight we could be up 2 places to 22nd already, without kicking a ball.

Depends how match fit Graham and Bonatini are, I think Bright will be in the starting line up though, the boy has some ability but just needs a goal, I think Ronan will start ahead of Graham as well

Am I missing something, but Bright isn't a striker?

I think he got him mixed up with EEL! Nope he's gone to MK Dons. Perhaps he meant Dernjerus. :smt005 :smt006

Spain won something important without a striker on the pitch, fans in this country need to broaden their ideas regards football, so do managers/coaches

Dicko won't last under this regime, Bonatini probably isn't up to speed, but Bright is a forward, maybe not the traditional centre forward we are used to, there are no Shearers anymore, but I think he will start and we will see a front 3 of him, Jota and Ronan intertwining
