Preston North End at home, another club rich in the history of English football. The first Invincibles, the first English club to field a Black player.

a Black player who was a 100 yard World class sprinter yet Preston played him in goal.

Really like this Preston side and how they are going about building a side without the advantage of having good money to spend.

And perhaps the best Scottish manager of his generation.

Good test this for both clubs, Wolves to edge it.

No Wharton for Preston but an interesting glimpse, second out for us is J.H. 'Jackery' Jones and don't miss Rozza at 3.15 mins.

There is film footage of the 1949 Wolves vs Preston game.

Looks like Brian might have a big say in this now. Forecasting wind speeds of 40-50 mph during Saturday afternoon in Wolverhampton. We are hardly going to be able to play a decent passing game in that so it is likely to be just a lottery. Let's hope the gods are more on our side and we come away with the required win.

Plan B: when all hope of passing accurately is lost, play hoof-ball a-la Wolves v PNE 1904.

His tunic wor covered in spit either. I wonder how many ears he clipped in an effort to make a difference that day.
Those clipped lobes would send himself to prison as a disgraced thug now in the fullness of tings innit.

I did have a tash like him though to be fair !!

Likely Preston team.

------------------------------------.Maxwell.

---------.Woods.----------.Huntington.----.Davies.------------..Earl.

------------------------.Pearson.-------------.Johnson.

---------.Barkhuizen.--------------.Browne.-------------.Robinson.

----------------------------------.Hugill.

Maguire starts instead of Robinson if declared fit to play.

I believe this is a team from somewhere called Lancashire ?

Never heard of them, although I did hear from the postman that they may wear clogs.

They have been trying to put the pressure on us with some of the players comments during the week, Fulham fans said they were very much like Cardiff, well they actually said PNE were cheats with lots of fouling, time wasting and off the ball naughtiness, hope we smosh em

Just checked the weather in Wolverhampton for tomorrow, heavy rain forecast between 3 pm and 6 pm, not to mention strong winds.

Hmmm! IFM says that there are reports about Preston playing like Cardiff. It could be a tough ride.

Just looking at the trees to see if the winds are blowing yet, all seems fairly calm.

For some reason there feels a sending off on the cards, will that be petulant Pearson or one of ours.

Should be fun.

It's the clogs which worry me. Not sure our fans dressed in leather shorts will be enough.

But Hugh Jarse could put it all on show as a dress rehearsal for his german trip. Surely that will kill off Preston.

You have a point.
If I walked into the fair town and was faced by a tribe of cross-dresssing EU supporters in leather shorts, it would put me off my stride.

It's the same ref who gave us nothing against Bristol City as well, I have a feeling we aren't gonna get much luck today

Not giving us a lot today either. Looks like they are targeting Jota.

Tough game. Doesn't seem like we are playing our normal game. Strange that they let the ref on the park given he left his cards at home in his spare coat. 1-0 Come on you Wolves.

I only got back home just before half-time so decided not to pay to watch, but the second half text on BBC indicates that PNE are committing a lot of fouls and one of theirs has gone into the book for a bad foul on Neves.
