The never take a victory for granted thread as Wolves host Sunderland.

A club still boasting one of the highest wage bills in the Championship, with two midfield players among the highest earners in the division.

Though they are in the bottom two lets remember they are unbeaten in half their games this season.

No game is a gimme, in Nuno we trust.

I'm gonna get carried away and say 4-0 for this one.

Treat it the same as we did Bolton, Sunderland will be fired up under Chris Coleman and we will have to be alert and work for the win, it is not a gimmee. Grind it out sort of game again, like Monday night.

I think Nuno will have been a bit unhappy with our performance against Blues so I am hoping Sunderland suffer the backlash of his ire, I'll go with a cautious 2-1 win to the good guys

Dear Roker Report,

The league game away at table-toppers Wolverhampton Wanderers this coming Saturday feels like a bit of a free hit.

I’m not expecting us to get anything. Wolves have thrown money at recruitment in the last two seasons and to their credit they have put together a formidable side that I believe would be more than capable of finding their feet in the Premier League.

Jota, Cavaleiro, Ruben Neves, Bonatini, Helder Costa - these are players that we at Sunderland could only dream of having in our side these days. For us to stand a chance against the team that are currently top of the division, we are going to need a whole lot of luck to go our way.

They have won their last six games and have lost just once at home all season.

On the flip-side, we are being kept off the bottom of the table only by our superior goal difference, have a mountain of injuries to key players to deal with, suspensions and everything else that comes with being an underachieving, under-performing side.

How on earth Chris Coleman approaches this one is beyond me.

I’d be tempted to introduce one or two of the younger players. Joel Asoro has shown in recent weeks that he’s capable of causing an impact and it’s a straight choice between him or Lynden Gooch on the right.

In the middle we lack tenacity and energy. Could young Adam Bale, Elliot Embleton or Ethan Robson be given a start ahead of someone like Lee Cattermole? They honestly couldn’t do any worse.

If our new manager can somehow mastermind a win against the best side in the division, it’ll be a truly remarkable victory, one that we’ll hopefully look back upon as a turning point in our season.

I’m crossing everything in the hope that we can escape unscathed.

Brian Fenwick

Hope that fella that took a dump in the stands isn't amongst the away support.

I hope they do play a couple of youngsters but if I was Sunderland manager I would avoid it. They need there most experienced side and they need to park the bus and hope for the best. Cannot see us losing this one 4 - 0 to the Wolves.

I think after an investigation, he didn't poo it.
It is almost a year since they last won at home

I wouldn't be surprised if Diogo Jota was given a rest this weekend, Nuno will want him fresh for the Christmas fixtures.

Agree with KK that some guys are needing a break. Surprised Jota hasn't been given a bit more of a rest - and Bonatini.

Neves has had a day off. Perhaps time for Saiss (he is older, has played all of most games) to let N'Diaye have a couple of games?

Doherty needs a rest too.

Ivan rarely plays more than 60 (to let Helder come on).

I know the argument that "we don't want to field weak teams and then blow it...", but neither do we want a first XI who are all knackered by mid-Jan, and then fall on our face when we have to suddenly replace most of them all at once.

Nuno has been brilliant - but he has shown a remarkable reluctance to change things (which is usually a GOOD thing!!!). I don't want 'squad rotation' where no-one ever knows who is playing and with whom, but occasional 'like-for-like' change for a couple of games can keep things fresh (and everyone interested!)

When you're fit and on top of your game you don't want to miss one, and funnily enough rarely feel tired. Tiredness is more in the mind than the legs. 8)

Well done to Jeff's little helpers, ensuring that the stadium and surrounds are fit and proper, and wishing the Sunderland fans a safe journey to and from Molineux.

5-0 to Wolves. Hopefully we finish this round 7 ahead of second.
Will be watching on WolvesTV which appears to be up and running early with no problems.

Still subdued sound and no commentary though?

Yeah - the picture was alright, even when put onto my large screen tv. At the moment it is sound only and the Wolves logo. Not sure why. Hopefully it will be back up soon. Perhaps I should look for a Taco online just in case it remains just the logo the entire match. Some of the other clubs have great commentary for their online TV setups. Hopefully we will stay the course and be in the prem next season and I won't need Wolves TV.

Has anyone else logged in only to see the Wolves logo and hear audio only?

I missed the last three minutes of that half. Cat did a fart that stank like crazy and I had to leave the room.

Come on, we don't want to be dropping points at home to teams right at the bottom.
