Friday night lights as Wolves head to the Steel City.

The good news is Wednesday try and play football and will look to beat us on merit.

Our old mate David Jones in central midfield looking to get the better of Ruben Neves.

Could be a few goals. Forecast ..... Wednesday 2 Wolves 3.

Rumours about that Wednesday are thinking of sacking their manager, Carvalhal, after not winning any of their last five games..

I do hope not. Getting fed up of playing someone 'under new management' and players with something to prove to get new contracts....

I hope for an open game. Or will Sheff Wed take a leaf out of others' books and try to frustrate us?

Unfortunately, I ain't going to this one... :(

Yeah, they say he'll be gone if they don't beat us. If it's got that bad, I would suggest he'll be gone either way anyway. Teams rarely manage to turn it around this late into the season without some major change, either by swapping the manager or bringing in a number of people in the transfer window. I doubt he'll last that long, nor will Wednesday's board trust him even if he did.

Like my golf. Always play better against better opposition. I expect a much better performance from the lads.

There's lot at stake for Sheff Wednesday because a huge wedge of money by Championship standards has been thrown at the project of gaining promotion.

Three strikers between them are collecting over 100k a week for example.

I doubt that board room at Hillsborough is the most relaxed at this time.

Their manager will be serving a touchline ban on Friday.

When does Nuno serve his?

Whenever you see Carvalhal interviewed post-match, he always seems a tad agitated.

I fully expect him to visit New Cross hospital over Christmas, where, much to the joy of the inmates, he will turn water in to wine.

If your an inmate having to use the Hospital you will get quicker treatment than your normal poorly customer/patient.

To the game...

Vinaigre to replace Douglas. Any other changes?

And don;t you just love Nuno? Again, he has been singing the praises ... of the 'gentlemen' who clear the snow from the pitches, the ice from the car park, and so on 'to prepare the training ground for us to prepare for Sheffield'. He is so appreciative that the WHOLE of the backroom staff are important to creating a successful team and club.

This contrasts hugely with the likes of Pardew. A friend of mine worked at a club when Pardew was there and said he was a nasty piece of work who was unpleasant to everyone, but in particular to the people Nuno recognises as important - the tea lady, the groundsmen, the kit man, etc etc....

We are heading the right way, IN the right way!

Saunders used to talk to all the staff too, but it seems that that is all he could do.

Just seen this on the BBC which is something else that I didn't know:-

Wolves have won their last three away league games without conceding in any - they have never won four in a row away from home without conceding in their entire history.

Another first tonight, I wonder!

Would be nice!

I would love a clean sheet, but would happily settle for a 4-5 win!

Feisty one.

We have more of a cutting edge.

Jota needs to stop the niggles getting to him.

Well we`ve got to half time with 11 men. I don`t know where Bennett`s head is. I `d sub him. Think we need to shift up a gear. COYW.

Yes for me too, Bennett has lost it big time, would bring Batth on for him before he sees a red card.

The Ref should've stopped play when Bonatini was rolling about and Jota took a card for the team to stop the play.

Bennett did no less or more than I would have done in that situation, but he got the Yellow and Rhoades walked free.

Footballing wise, not much in it, a few hairy moments with Ruddy coming to the edge of his 18 yard box to fall over Bolly. An equaliser then who knows, 1 or 2 more from us (just as I predicted) then, game over.

Not the prettiest, not the best performance, but job done and another 3 points in the bag plus, a new record established.

51 Points, who would have thought that back in July.

Cav was off form. Ball wouldn't stick up front. Maybe needs freshening up for the next match.
Great goal from Neves. Defence looked very solid.
I think we are going through our rough patch so 7 points out of 9 will do.
We will start playing the beautiful stuff again soon enough.

Yep. Boly and Bennett coming in really do seem to have shored us up.

I also think teams are becoming more conservative when they play us, which is showing in the lack of shots both attacking and defensively.

Not played great for 3 games yet still picked up 7 points from 9. Not a bad 'bad patch' to go through.
