Saturday night lights.

Wolves welcome Sheffield United who include three old boys in what could prove a tricky encounter because of how Wilder sets up his team.

United are under pressure and will come to our place looking for a win as they find themselves out of the top six.

Wolves need an early goal to settle into their confident pattern of play, Sheffield need an early goal to create some doubts.

Forecast for this one.

Wolves Nil Sheffield United 1.

I'm going for a 2-0 win here. Having a midweek game would have done them no favours and I think we'll be back to our best.

They'll park the bus and rely on a breakaway goal. I reckon we'll find it tough to penetrate them and will win 1-0.

We need to win to keep alive the chance of beating every team in this division at least once.

The Blades' confidence is much lower than previous but the Championship is such a schizophrenic league, they could well put in a backs to the wall fighting performance and see us off. Leon suddenly to rediscover his form and bully Coady again.

Could this physical battle be the one to see Neves banned for two games?

3 former Wulfs with a chance to score against us, they were the better side for long periods against Villa before being hit with that sucker punch at the end, how the fuck are Villa in 3rd place

A fair number of decent results for us midweek, a good 2-0 or 3-1 win at the weekend would steady nerves in several quarters, and depress opponents who must have been hoping that were about to stumble big time - now is the time to slap them down good and proper!!

I want to see a massive improvement from the Forest game, but with Stears, Evans and Leon 'FFS' Clarke returning, you know that this could be an uncomfortable watch. However, fuck it, Wolves 2-1 Blades.

Edit: with the likes of Derby and Villa having already played, Nuno will have a clearer idea of what we need to do.

I'm getting excited already. Wonder if Afobe will be on the bench?

With Adobe signing it gives the crowd and players fresh impetus..
To take on a strong team, a team we gave the last game to.

A late winner with an acrobatic edge perhaps?

Really? You expect fancy aerobatic goal celebrations? Adobe never struck me as a flash player.

I can't see anything other than a comfortable Wolves win.
There are three ex Wolves players deemed not good enough by the club
and quite a few people on here,so nothing to fear,is there ?

Getting excited! I suspect Nuno will put Afobe on bench and make him 'earn' a place. Again yesterday he re-emphasised TEAM not INDIVIDUALS - he is desperate that Benik does not upset the camp with any 'Billy Bigbollux' attitude, and will want to make that clear.

All depends on Afobe attitude in training and in dressing room. Let's hope he is a mature 24 year old....

I think you can buy a 1 day sky sports pass for £6.99 through Now TV. I'm no techie but I believe that if you join Now TV and buy a pass you can use it to watch sky sports on your PC or Smart TV or Ipad. Might be worth a look if you are willing to fork out £6.99.

I think by most reckonings only three teams have a realistic chance of overhauling wolves...derby,villa and cardiff....all three are winning at half time.

Wolves target will be fairly simple ...drop ten points or less in the next 17 games.

£20 for a month and then £33.99 thereafter. I reckon I'll wait until we have that run of four games on the box. Ta all the same. :smt023

Fook OFF with any negativity, I predict a 3-1 (possibly 4) win today. We're just too good for YOU. Look at the bench FFS - (I hope that I don't have to eat my hat later, but I need to share how I feel albeit, I have had a couple of stiff Irish Peated Whiskeys after being out in the gales for most of the day with the sheep.

I would have like AFOBE to start as then my prediction would be easier, him to score about the 10 minute mark, but as it is, anyone's guess.

Come On Me Babbies.

Hollywood pass from Coady to Cav, who get challenged and Neves picks up the loose ball, first time strike in off the crossbar/post goalie no chance, class.

From the BBC:-

MERLIN'S BEARD WHAT A GOAL

From start to finish, what a goal this is. Conor Coady lofts a ball pretty much the length of the pitch towards Ivan Cavaleiro who tees up Ruben Neves to score an absolute worldie.

He curls home with incredible accuracy to cannon off the top right corner and into the goal. That was something else.

There is so much quality in this Wolves squad - it is sometimes sublime and sometimes, embarrassing. Possession means fuck all, it is what you do with the ball when you have it.
