I think if our current form remains the same for the next four matches then people will be happy with just scraping through into second. Right now this season reminds me a lot of that season where Sunderland started poor and then roared into first place towards the seasons end. Well, we have a number of teams below us who are roaring along right now and we have really lost it. We MUST make the most of our matches against lower table sides and bring home all the points because I am not confident of our chances against Boro, Cardiff and Derby. At this moment Cardiff, Villa and Fulham are all in it to win it and they all see us as a wounded animal ripe for the kill.

I think we should just enjoy tonights match and let the season take care of itself without trying to second guess everything.

Safe in the knowledge that for many people this is the best coach and group of players in their lifetime.

With the resolve, strength and togetherness to pull together to gain the required long term results.

Enjoy the game, its fun.

Absolutely KK!!

Nervousness amongst the fans will produce anxiety on the pitch - and we all know how destructive THAT is of a good performance.

The fans so far have been GREAT! Even when we had a few poor performances (but were winning), and a couple of defeats, the fans stuck with the boys and sang and cheered and chanted. That is what is needed tonight.

Be positive - be cheerful - be noisy. We MUST NOT go back to the bad old days where - if we didn't score in the first 15 minutes - the fans got restless and start moaning at the first mis-placed pass or shot off target.

NOW is the time to PROVE that "In Nuno we trust!"

Supposed changes:
Bennett for Batth, Saiss for N'Diaye, Costa for Cav, Afobe for Bonatini

Costa for Cav really, it must be me as someone who looks at Costa and thinks No Thanks.

While thinking what the fuck when Cavaleiro is substituted, I really think we should play through Cavaleiro more, he makes things happen.

Costa, yes or no?

Fully agree. For me, Costa had resembled Texeira more and more post-injury and has purely lived off the credit from last season. The way he jumps out of 60-40 tackles in his own favour is really disheartening and takes every slight brush as an excuse to limp around for 5 minutes. It does nothing to show the opposition that we are willing to fight for the result.

Nuno always seems to be on Cav's back though - always giving him a rollicking during games and always takes him off - which rarely improves our fortunes. I know he didn't have his best game on Saturday, but we did nothing at all without him.

The only logic I can see is that Cav was brilliant coming off the bench earlier in the season so maybe that's the plan. Let Costa soften up the opposition for a bit then bring the real threat on.

I think playing Saiss with him a yellow away from a ban is also an unnecessary risk.

At risk of boring unanimity, it is Cav for me over Costa any day.

Cav at his worst is unpredictable. At his best he is unstoppably unpredictable!

Not just what Cav does himself but also the understanding he has with Doc down the right that makes him first choice for me.

Yup,Cav for a me too.
I would add that there is a time to be entertaining with the tricks and flicks, but Saturday wasn't the day to do it,especially when they wasn't coming off.
Normal service should resume tonight,I just cannot see reading winning at our place.
I trust Nuno to put right Saturdays performance right,no reason not to,is there.
Who is tonight's referee.

Only once this season have we failed to respond to a defeat with a win in the game directly afterwards (Brentford draw after Cardiff loss).

Fully expect a win tonight to remind the chasing pack that losing away to Fulham and Villa is far from terminal.

That on paper looks a good selection. Now just get out there, score loads of goals and destroy Reading.

Team selection needs freshening up. Let's trust the squad to put in a winning performance. This is a must win in my view. Absolute must. The pressure is on.

First real danger as Costa shoots, parried back but Jota can't react fast enough

Not good news on both accounts. However, as long as it is not too serious, we can go on for another game without him and then, the International break.

Game has been flat since Jota's injury. Wolves not really close to the goal.

Afobe just had a scoring chance.

Cardiff will probably win. Brentford's defence is as solid as a piece of melted chocolate.
