The games come quickly during December and this has all the hallmarks of being one of the games of the season.

Interesting team selection for Wolves without our best player and tempo setter.

Expect goals.

Forecast...…..2-2.

Can't see us scoring more than one, but we do do better against the big boys.

Jota back in, and probably Cav in for Costa for me please.

Can't see us scoring against them unfortunately.

From open play we carry very little threat at all.. well "threat" in terms of getting into the final third, yes, but actually playing a killer final pass and then it being coolly dispatched, I have little hope of. The only time I actually believe there will be a goalscoring chance is when Doherty lumbers forward and that tells everything about our misfiring forwards.

The difference to the past games is that a cautious draw would be seen as a real success, so let's see.

Two extra days rest for Wolves to recover plus the away side having to spend time travelling.

Up tempo game please Wolves, lets see how much some of these Chelsea players actually fancy it.

Especially the defensive tracking recovery runs.

MGW for Neves, Jota to start, we do play better against the top teams as they tend to let us play our game and not stifle us like Hudders and Cardiff did. Need to keep it tight until HT otherwise a heavy defeat may beckon but I'll be positive and hope to see us scrape a draw.

I'd rather see us playing Chelsea under the lights at Molineux, than say, Millwall.

I'd rather be on the Kings Road than down the Isle of Dogs too.

Bermondsey is far worse.

Its one of those game where you could use Traore tactically down Wolves left hand side keeping N'Golo Kanté occupied, preventing him travelling right side to centre.

Something to watch out for, Chelsea apart from possibly Man City move the ball quicker than anyone else.
Good shape and concentration levels required..

Interested to see who he goes with to replace Neves, expect us to push them close.

Reports indicate Saiss into midfield with Dendoncker starting at right centre back.

So MGW in, wonder if he will be central or the wing?
Jota and Bennett return.
Swiss in for Neves.

An interesting line up, MGW to float around all over the place and create and move into space? Maybe also support Jimenez on occasion as well as dropping back to cover. Let's see how we get on, fingers crossed no early conceding.

One down 18 mins, shot from Loftus-Cheek deflected off Coady's head.

Slapstick in defence again. A true feat of physics by Coady to send that ball on that trajectory. Attack has been willing to chase, but powderpuff in effect.

Chelsea look capable to scoring more with every attack.

Triffic performance by MGW.

Delighted Jota gets his goal, assisted by Doherty, which begs the question how many goals have been either assisted or scored by Jimenez or Doherty?

A brilliant result against one of the big boys and a poor ref judging by the commentary.

Just about brought my heart rate under control. A real shot in the arm after two frankly appalling efforts.

Not sure how Chelsea didn't go 2 up in the first 90 seconds, Boly and Morata 3 yards out, somehow the ball ended up going by.

Great turnaround as soon as we equalised though. One of the first times this season, a midfielder played a through-ball, a striker ran on to it and instead of flapping around, he simply hit the ball as far as he could with his first touch, low and hard and goal!

After that we looked a totally different team and deserved the win overall. Ref seemed very card happy against us, but we did struggle to win the ball cleanly. Chelsea do move the ball very well to be honest, makes a win all the more sweet...and all that minus Neves :D

It's a funny old game at times, Saint...…."Jimmy Greaves".

Played in the middle with Jota on the left and Raul on the right.
Played deeper than Raul does (shadow striker?).
When MGW went off Raul resumed his role down the middle,

MGW does look special.

Only 4 points off the likely European qualification spot. Maybe we’re not quite as bad as some were suggesting.

Fantastic, rousing performance. Some wonderful play, two great goals from open play, and really good to see a few ‘second choice’ players involved in a win against one of the big boys.

We need to start doing it against the teams around us too.

MGW reminded me of Gazza, not quite his level yet but amazing performance considering his age. Bennett was very good too, and Vinagre stepped it up too. Seen some slagging off of Costa, I thought he looked after the ball well and managed to carry it up the field denying Chelsea the chance to pressure us in the closing stages.

Chelsea really lack a top striker, would have made it 2-0 with one, Kante doesn't look comfortable in his current position. Why on earth they spent eighty odd million when they could have got Butland for a quarter of that God only knows.

The question for the past month or so has been ......"Does Nuno have a Plan B?"

Asked and hopefully answered.

Boly got away with that, clear pen as the MOTD folks pointed out. About time we got some luck after Coady's OG.

Fine margins.

Things haven't been going our way so much of late. They did last night and we were good enough to take advantage.
When they don't, we're often not good enough to overcome it. But last night showed we are nowhere near relegation fodder in this league (as does the league table). We can give anyone a game.

Upto 30 mins we were poor. We stood off Chelsea and let them stroke the ball around far too easily. After 30 mins we pressed far more effectively and worked our way into the game, giving ourselves a chance.

Take the first 30 mins out and it was a very good performance. MGW Motm for me. I knew Danny Murphy would be all over that performance on MOTD when I got back.
But Saiss also had a good game and reminded us that we do have a bit of depth to the squad.

Great night overall!
