Another Year and if in football terms it can come close to matching the old one it will be another fun time.

Good side Palace, some high speed individuals with top organisation.

Prediction.

Its one of those where the run of the ball dictates the outcome.

So lets sit on the fence and predict a Desmund.

Naaaah! Lets build on a great team perfromance and go for the jugular!!

But what team?

Can Moutinho be left out?
Is Jota fit to come back?
Does Jimenez need a rest after prodigous effort of last two?
Where does Dendonker fit?
Do we prefer the pace and forward push of Vinagre over the solidity and qualitynof Jonny?

I'd go:
Patricio
Bennett Coady Boly
Doc Neves Moutinho. Vinagre
Cavaleiro. Jimenez. Jota

A very good friend of mine is a Palace fan, i can say now he is not looking forward to this.

We really should be beating them, whether we will is another matter. they have only 1 player to keep quiet after all.

The number of year changes but Palace at home always reminds me of 97.

A less painful outcome this time, to kick off a good year please Wolves.

Wasn't Zaha's last game at the Mol the one where he scored two to turn the game and Peskzo got crippled? From being top of the table to the start of a very dark period.

Yep, and the one who crippled him (what a player he could have turned out to be given his fantastic start) didn't even get booked and created the assist for Zaha's second.

After a fine 4 pint Christmas haul from the capital, I hope to see us dish out some more capital punishment to the Stripey Nigels. Those play-off games against them still smart...

Had a generous fixture list this Christmas, had one more rest day again for this one so lets run them in to the ground.

Neves on the bench with Traore, MGW, Vinagre, Bonatini and the Donck.
Moutinho and Saiss in the middle, Cav up front with Jimenez and Costa.

Hope the players are quicker than your good self at sobering up.

Cav not getting much change out of the excellent Wan Bissaka, still don't understand why we never cross it, even if Raul tends to be the only player in there. Would help if we stopped only attacking down the side their best player is defending.

Traore to come on and to win a penalty...if he can get into the box with the ball.

We don't need a DM in Saiss, we need someone in the middle to create or beat his man, namely MGW.

First goal was offside and someone's recent comparison of Bennet to Jody Craddock was incorrect as even Jody wouldn't have made that bad a tackle. Move on.

343 works well against the bigger teams and away from home, can't set up to counter attack at home to Palarse. Saiss doesn't offer enough offensively. Don't know why we always attacked Wan Bissaka.

Everyone was poor but Nuno set it up all wrong.

A canny Manager is Hodgson. I wonder if this result with prompt Fosun to dig even deeper into their pockets.

No energy tonight, maybe we ran out of it at Wembley ..?? Shit happens, move on to the next game, no points to lose just a Cup Tie to win at home against the odds. COYW.

Probably the worst display of the season. Every single player 1 to 11 was bad tonight and the subs were crap as well although they had to contend with coming into a total mess of a team. The last 30 minutes at Spurs has saved an otherwise pretty dreadful management of the Xmas period.

3 more wasted points to kick off the year. We desperately need a few real leaders in the starting Xi who won't accept this attitude of we'll play when we feel like it. Too many performances are simply substandard too often and that's not because of a lack of ability but a lack of bottle, heart and mental will to win at all costs.

What a pack of garbage that match was.

It is not often that I end a match with that kind of opinion, but today it is deserved.

Crystal Palace were crap. That says a lot about our performance. If we played like that in every match we would go down.

Was it arrogance?

Maybe it was the kick in the pants the team needs heading into the new year. The job is not done and Nuno will surely have torn a few egos apart after the match.

Deserved win for for Palace. Just about any top table chump side would have rolled us tonight.

Onward we go. I am sure Nuno will do some tinkering and we will see the effect in the games to come. Bring on 2019. In Nuno we trust. COYW.

We have a Plan "A", but not yet a successful Plan "B".

The big clubs allow us to play. They think they can beat us with their skill and power. Sometimes they do, often they are caught out by the discipline and coaching Nuno has brought to the club. Big clubs want to play their game. They don't care about ours. Clubs like Cardiff and Palace don't have a game good enough to beat us, if they are daft enough to ignore us, and play it their way for the win. So with clever "Old School" managers, they come to the table with a game-plan designed not to let us play our way. In that way, they sorta out Wolves, Wolves.

Nuno sticks to his plan regardless. He needs to recognise that if the so called "lessor" teams don't allow us the space to play out our way, we have to get down and dirty and grind out a win with a more direct path. He will find a way, he has too if he wants to reach the magic "Next Level".

Trust in Nuno ( I hope)

Agreed, although I was pleased with how the likes of Costa and Jonny tried to harry the opposition. Nuno made three subs, but only a shot from Neves (our only one on target all night?) made an impact and both MGW and Traore made no real difference. If Traore does not have grass to run in to, I don't see that he offers anything, he doesn't seem tho have the skill and nous that's required in this league.

The problem we have is that we play with one up top, and Jiimiez is basically doing the Kevin Doyle role, coming deep, working his socks off, but feeding off scraps, when he could do with a partner in crime. However, that won't happen in Nuno's system'. That said, shit performances and results against sides lower in the table has become a regular thing...

OK, we were piss-poor. However, their first was offside and the penalty wouldn't have happened if we'd had the free kick for the offside as the pattern of play thereafter would have been different.

Palace are jammy bastards at our place and I've come f***ing loathe them.
