FA Cup fever in the air as Shrewsbury come to town.

It wont be easy but we should get the job done.

As few changes as possible Nuno but remember two yellow cards this season brings a ban.

Forecast for this one.

Wolves 1 Shrewsbury 0.

Play Jimenez and Jota from the start please so we have at least a chance of opening the scoring.

Since the original tie Shrewsbury have been back to plodding around and losing every week, but this being their Champions League Final, they will no doubt play out of their skins again.

At home, weather not such an issue and Newcastle is a Monday night game.

Ruddy
BennettCoadyBoly
DocMGWDonkVinagre
CostaRaulJota

Should be strong enough to play two in midfield, Donk gets around anyway.

Excellent game for Traore to build confidence along with Costa and Cav.
Vinagre, Saiss, Donck and Doc in the middle
Boly, Coady, Bennett
Rui

They've got 6 days to recover.

I think that Nuno may try to give 2 or 3 who are not in the first 11 a run out. He might feel that the likes of Costa Traore Cav MGW Vinagre and Saiss need to be kept involved. There is also the possibility that 7th place could bring a Europa League spot if 2 teams in the top 6 win the cups so he might have an eye on that now we have worked our way there for the time being.

We've got 6 days rest afterwards though.

Involve the likes of MGW and Costa only once we've got a grip on the game.

To be fair to MGW and Costa they have been playing when we have taken points off of Citeh, Chelsea, United, Arsenal so the Shrews should hold no fears. If we can get two ahead would be nice to have some more young uns get a run out.

I do find it slightly ridiculous though when the smaller sides mimic the big clubs claiming fatigue, the big teams are in Europe and usually go far in both domestic cups, the rest don't. With our next game six days away keeping match sharpness should be more of a concern. Don't like the lack of midweek games in the PL.

Team are supposed to be jetting off to Marbella for warm weather training on Wednesday. One more big effort before though please.

Is it a surprise they don't fly out to Portugal for these mid winter training breaks?

Jota ruled out with a knock, will not be risked but Neves ok and may start. Niall Ennis in the squad too as is Giles.

The defender Shrewsbury signed from Man Utd during the transfer window is supposed to be the fastest player in English football.

Match him against Traore.

Wolves very weak in central midfield and light up top.

Shrewsbury will love Wolves team sheet.

1 corner for Shrewsbury, 1 goal against.

Surely we could have played Jimenez and Jota from the start.

Good job he is. The rest of the "attack" is hopeless and Ruddy's been hopeless. Any shot near the goal from them has every chance of going in.

FT

Away at Bristol the proper XI, including Rui, needs to start the match.

Why is it the 17th now?, I thought it was the 16th?

Our name is on this trophy.

Cheers Shrops, saved me £100. Great place to see a match at, great pubs, easy to get to, great to walk around, no dickhead fans wanting to fight you, apart from our own

Looks like an indoor barbecue big telly fest then!!!

True, there were 5 selections tonight who are very hit and miss at the best of times.

Nice! Now where to watch it? It's screaming out for a Sunday Roast at Midday first, but Riley's could be the best venue to watch the game.

We got away with it tonight, rode our luck and scraped through in the typical years old nervy Wolves fashion. As stated earlier on this thread, we need our top eleven out at Bristol. It'll be a really tough game there but never has the FA Cup been so wide open like this. Go for it...!!!!

We are currently 10/1 with bet 365 to win it. I took Wolves to win it at 9/1. With Man U or Chelsea going out in the next round 10/1 is a massive each way price in what is almost a 5 runner bet with a 13/8 favourite paying first and second.
I forsee a repeat of the 1974 final and hopefully the same result  . We were massive underdogs then but we day know it or care 8)
