We were dead on our feet..
and we will struggle at the week end
Leonardo Campana – a 19-year-old Ecuadorian centre forward and client of Jorge Mendes – is thought to be close to be signing

I had little interest in the game and was surprised the centre forward, wing backs and midfield two were involved on the night.

Important to give these players some midweek breaks.

Who would you have played instead against Manchester United's first team?

Peersonally, I would have played ANYONE to give Jimenez, Traore, Neves & Moutinho a complete rest - not even on bench. They need protecting.

I think you have to factor in that a thrashing for a reserve team on live TV (which they would have received from Utd's first team) would be very poor for morale within the club and among the supporters... and poor value for the fans who paid a hefty ticket fee.

With the income it has available and the resources supposed dedicated to recruitment, the club should be able to field a highly competitive side in any match. That we aren't able to without using our core 13 or so players is really a failure.

I would have played Bennett and Kilman either side of Coady then used Dendoncker and Saiss as part of a midfield triangle involving Ronan with Traore and Neto the most forward players in the side.

Wingbacks Vinagre and Burr.

Ronan is on a season-long loan in Slovakia.

I heard he was back at the club, but wasn't sure on his availability.

I agree with KK's side. Ronan WAS back, and has gone on yet another loan - this time to Blackpool. The lad certainly has got about a bit! Will no-one sign him?

Well here's me thinking Ronan is a higher quality player than those that usually number our bench.

I must be a poor judge of players.

Agree with that KK. Not your judgement but about Ronan…:-)

As long as we turn the MUNters over in our forthcoming league fixture I won’t be concerned about our exit from the Cup.
