Bought a couple of HTC Desire 500 Dual Sim Smart Phones the other day and just had my mini sim card fitted and as it is my first ever Smart Phone, I am still exploring the gadgets. The woman in the M-Tel (Vodaphone owned Bulgarian Company) was talking about some APP that is like SKYPE that I would like to investigate. I think it started with a 'V', but cannot be sure now as it took an Hour + to get contracts sorted and getting my Wife on her own contract as I had had a previous contract with two sim cards for the price of one.

Any other Must have APPS for cheap efficient contact worth looking at? I thought there was some SMS type thingy that HTC had between their mobiles, but not sure now?

Cheers.

Cheers - I've a lot of fiddling and reading to do. Took me an hour to find out how to delete numbers from my call-list today plus, disable all the fookin tracking devices set as default. They want to know where you are, what you are doing and when you are doing it all under the guise 'it helps us to improve our service', bollox. Where is the shortcut key for, 'I'm having a shit'.

In the old days, I had to tick boxes for things I wanted now I spend ages unticking shite I don't wish to share with every other fooker on this or that social networking site.

only way to really find out is have a play and see what works for you.

im gonna grab it, looks really good. I just bought a load of seeds and ive got some chili peppers to re pot.

whatsapp is really good. you need it on a phone though as you need a sim in order to get it to register, its works over the interweb tho so no calls or texts to pay for as long as you have connectivity.

Perhaps I am just paranoid, but I use hardly any apps on my new mobile as every fooker wants the right to track me, leave shit on my phone, have access to my SMS, Phonebook and whatnot. I understand that I am not that important that anyone is going to target me in particular, but WHY do they need all this fookin data.

Why does Google Maps need to know where I am, where I live, where I work and where I have been. I don't give that much information to my Wife. :?

Some apps need to know where you are so it can auto load, for example, weather, traffic and directions to places in your current area.
Just agree and load some up buddy .. i was like you but have quite a few installed now.

Its weird being sat in front room and your phone beeps to let you know in five minutes the Space station will be flying directly over head ... go outside on the countdown and there the fooker is zipping by at 20,000 mph (ISS Detector) sad fcuker aay?

That sounds COOL and would only be sad if you waved at it.

I have to smile, it says, we need your location to tell you what the weather is like; I fookin know what the weather is like where I am, I can see it outside of my window. Plus, I have a thing called a thermometer on the window and on my watch for that matter.

I'm trying to clear shite off it that I'll never use such as Facebook, Twitter etc. Just got around to disabling lots of stuff so far. When I get around to inserting the new SD card then, I might get around to installing some useful stuff. It is one giant leap from my Old Man's Nokia I must admit.
