Don't believe the hype, really not very good. Plot holes galore, historically inaccurate, no character development and too long. Like most Mendes films, especially his Bonds, all hype no substance.

If you want to be REALLY bored check out the Irishman. Jesus Christ almighty the dialogue is emptier than a proton. The critics say it mimics Once upon a time in America which to me is one of the greatest 'Gangster' films ever made. It simply is not in the same galaxy as it.

I agree with you both.

I did enjoy Once upon a time in Hollywood with Brad Pitt fully deserving of any awards going his way.

The last fifteen minutes being funny beyond belief when the Manson kids go for the Kill. Superb stuff
Quentin Tarantino.
Leonardo DiCaprio was also excellent.

Goodfellas is one of my all time favourite films so I was thinking of going to see The Irishman but thankfully I got warned off. There have been a few films I knew would be rubbish but got suckered in to seeing because of obviously suspect positive reviews (that Churchill film with Gary Oldman, the first of the recent Star Wars) so I wanted to do everyone a public service with 1917 by giving an honest review before you part with your hard earned money.

Things to do in Denver when you're dead is a better movie than that and is my favourite Italian gangster style film, opinions of course.

The Italian series Gomorrah, is evil at its best.

The new Tom Hanks film is weird.

Off Topic, Wolves have snubbed a bid for the Irishman.
