A really good thriller - intriguing, great plot, great acting, quite long and enjoyable throughout. Don't read any reviews as it'll tell you things you won't want to know.

Anything, well almost anything done by David Fincher is worth a view, will give it a try.

I went with a bird and enjoyed it. Solid 8/10.
Quite long but didnt feel it, was focused on it completely from front to back.

Edit - The film was a solid 8/10. The bird a 6 at a push, before she lost a mark for rustling the popcorn bag too much. It wasnt placed on my lap either, for which she could possible lose another mark.

A pal of mine went on my recommendation and he just didn't like it at all. I asked whether his wife did and she liked it even less. Both couldn't wait for it to be over. "Absolute tosh!" was his remark. Oh, well.

On another note, a building caught fire next to the cinema in Kilburn (N London) when they were showing it and everyone had to be evacuated an hour before the end. There was a huge outcry (according to the Evening Standard, with quotes from cinema-goers) - desperate to know how it was to end...placated only by the cinema offering free tickets for a subsequent performance.

Win some, lose some, I suppose.

My Wife bought the book en-route Bangkok in Doha airport, read it on holiday and watched the film on the tablet sized screen courtesy of Qatar Airways on the way back. She enjoyed both versions, but said the film closely followed the book which is nice when possible.
