A sleepless night, just one of many, why can't I just get to sleep?
I've had a bath, and some nice hot milk, and counted the fecking sheep.
Twenty four hours I've been awake, and I'd love to close my eyes,
And drift off into some blissful dreams that are full of contented sighs...

I really don't know know what's on my mind, and I'm not feeling quite myself,
But perhaps it's just the side effects of working in mental health :?
Cos this week I work for the KGB, and a client wants me dead,
And I also work for a Mafia gang so I'll expect a horses head....
I've done my bit and tried my best to tell clients this isn't true,
But deluded and paranoid, bless their souls, I don't know what they'll do....

The family's fine, and the bills are paid, and I still don't know whats wrong,
But these sleepless nights with no sleep at all, are really far too long.

I wondered if Strats would be around to reminisce about disco days,
But he needs his rest after the recent op, and should do what the doctor says.
Astis just dreaming about having a fag, cos I know he's trying to quit,
But there's nothing like that morning cough as you get your first nicotine hit.....

Essex is fine, and we had a quick chat, but he has to be up by 7,
And Rozza has been on a boys night out, but had to be in by 11...
Wolfman just needs all the sleep he can get, but at his age that's no big surprise,
And a couple of youngsters are just getting in after their boozy Friday night highs.

Well it'll soon be 5, and I just needed a moan, but I hope all you lot slept well,
And for any other insomniacs, you're not alone in your sleepless night hell.
We can only hope that the next night will bring some kip and some quality rest,
So goodnight or goodmorning, sweet dreams or slept well, I wish you all the best

Hi Nutty. I hope you are not reading this too early and that you got a couple of hours in as the rest of us were getting up.

The poem was great. Perhaps you should join the KGB and the Mafia and then you can tell your clients that they are definitely not having delusions.

Awww Nutty, I feel for ya gal.

I posted recently that I was struggling with my sleep pattern ... seems to have 'kicked in' now at last (fingers crossed).

I know it does ya head in, and the more you TRY to get off to sleep, the more frustrated you get, it's a vicious little circle. I do believe in the theory that you need a clear mind before sleep ... and I guess, in your line of work, that is not easy at all.

Hope you are 'catching some decent Z's' while I type this out now.

  At my age..saucy sod.....i sleep cos i'm tired and chilled, fortunately i dont see the depraved and needy everyday, trust me if i did,i wouldnt sleep either. For your information,i can only sleep with my personal radio plugged in one ear all night,i listen to the current affair programmes they have on at night,it sends me off a treat. My missus says my brain never gets chance to relax, maybe she's right, but i sleep, which is what i need.
You should tune into my show on Thursday nights, that'll chill you out no problem.

Jeez....I ain't looked this rough since a heavy night in 1993...

Kat I daredn't start using the booze to help me nod off...this is such a regular thing just lately, I'd become far too friendly with Captain Morgan...

Arch, I'm not sure the clients are 'depraved'...
Just a bit disturbed.....
One of the downsides of living and working in the same area I guess, is the fact that if risks do escalate I feel a bit vulnerable....

Anyway.....Non ho idea che cosa incita i clienti a pensarlo funziona per la mafia...... 8)

But yes, a client did tell me yesterday she has evry intention of seriously hurting me....I've been thumped before and had a knife pulled on me, but there's something about this woman that doesn't feel right, and I always follow gut instinct....

You cheeky mare, 11pm!!, if yow come out with me you'd be on your back in two hours....

Nice poem though. Nuts, stop trying to change their world or ours.Help em as best you can then fuck em off. No one pays you or praises you for taking it home with you, I have done it too many times to bother with them now mate.

If you can leave work and say to yourself that you did your best today, thats all you can hope for, if then Uncle Daftbastard throws himself under a bus its his choice, whether informed or other.

The key to your peace lies in your text, it's quite obvious your work is sticking in your head. I said this to Muz and i'll say it to you again mate about work, dont take it personal and DONT take it home.

When you have had several hundred people stating that they will kill you, your wife, your kids, burn your house down, shag your mom up the arse, have your job, get you sacked, stick a chiv in your liver, it tends to become a little stale after a while.

The ones that REALLY do your head are the ones where you step over that boundary and take them into your confidence or believe them wholeheartedly, you go out of your way to believe and aid them, when them chosen folk fuck you about thats when it hurts and sticks with you.

Either have a holiday, take a break, stop or start buffing your button, or roundly tell folk to fuck right off, it is steeped in catharcism an that, dont it.

That sounds risky chick!!

The risk assessment, fuck me, I wish I had a quid for every R/A I have done over the last three years.
I had to do one the other day for one of my officers who fell pregnant ( WTF is 'fell' pregnant?). R/A's are the last refuge of the scoundrel, an organisational back covering exercise where scapegoats are formed.

I agree entirely.....
The R/A took me a quarter of the day, and then the 'new' documentation for 'positive risk taking' took me another half a day.....
I only hope I'm never hauled into coroners court when shit hits the fan....

Recent true occurance...

Job: faulty door lock.

Arch enters premises, occupants appear normal, assess fault.
Return to vehicle and complete risk assesment, collect required tools, return to property.
Enters front door, and a ferret, yes a fookin ferret, runs out of the living room and into kitchen.
Arch returns to vehicle and rewrites risk assesment, starts van and drives off.
