Johanna Konta into the women's semi-finals to face a 37 year old, Venus Williams.

First British woman to reach this stage of the tournament since Virginia Wade in 1978.

Well done.

Her Grandfather was a top footballer, played alongside Puskas for a couple of games in the mid fifties for the excellent Hungarian National side.
Long distinguished career at Ferencváros.

Murray's not won a 5 set match since last Wimbledon, today will be tough, maybe too tough.

Poor bugger could hardly run. Injury defeated him at the end of the day. Needs to take a couple of months off to recover.

Federer looks unbeatable.

I fear the very top players are training their bodies to the absolute levels of fitness and then find they break more easily.

Recovery at 30 is so different than recovery at 20.

Murray is a great player with a tremendous will to win, but..
IMO he will not win another slam

Needs an extended break away from the game imo.

Missing a slam or two hasn't done Rafa or Roger any harm.

Fair point, he needs to think about his age, and forget rankings.
Rest and return.

Yes, Federer did it last year and since returning from a long break off, has been superb, even at the age of 35.

Agreed. It feels like Murray focused too much on getting to World Number 1 last year, and didn't have a break. Reckon he'll have a few weeks off now, then come back for the US Open, then hopefully have a break again after that

Starting as at least world number 15, in the new year.

I think those top four players have to ignore the sponsors, the World ratings and just try andget ready for the blue ribbond events.

Time to cut back on the heavy schedules.

Problem with that is, that the seedings in the slams is based on rankings, and if the Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray are lower in the rankings, it will make it all the harder to be winning those Slams

Heard an interesting story about Murray and Djokovic yesterday - both of them forego payments from tournaments, with the money going to the players lower down the rankings who struggle to make ends meet

It wouldn't surprise me, I know previously he has donated his 2016 Queen's winnings (73k) to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Murray, finally returned to the court this week..
He has dropped to 16th in the world having not played for over 100 days and will face a tough draw in Australia.

Murray split with Lendl today, not sure why.

Big blow to Murray I'd have thought
