Being arrested dont mean shite Tom. Being charged and having bail conditions might though. The issue of self defence WILL be used as a positive for him by his legal 'Team', as will the the CPS's hunger to prosecute 'celebrity' will be a negative.

Freddie on a Pedalo, Gower on a plane seems tame innit.

Good time for it to happen rather than outside some bar in Brisbane.

He just made this years touring party one of the best behaved in recent history.

And if they wish to continue playing for England one of the driest.

As a sidenote yesterday in America 1933, the end to prohibition.

Like Rozza said, being charged, and sentenced with bail conditions, make a big difference.
Someone may need to make a big decision and drop him.

Rozza, in your experience, how long would you expect this to take?

I think the England team are due to fly out to Oz on October 28th. What would you expect the situation to be by then?

Having reviewed about a thousand cases like this the matter relies on who makes the decision to charge/caution, or NFA, no further action.
The offence of ABH HAS to be referred to the CPS for a charging decision, UNLESS the evidence is unequivocally guilty, the offender admits the offence,remorse/ culpability is expressed and the matter would not be in the public interest to proceed to court, and the alleged offenders offending history is taken into account.

If the fight showed Terry Bollockhead fighting with Darren Halfwit outside the Moon under the Water, the matter would be quickly finalised NFA, it would by me anyway based on the CCTV, the CPS would give me a right round of fucks if I abrogated my former responsibility as the evidence review officer and lazily referred it to them.

Unfortunately a 'Celebrity' is involved which means the CPS will be shitting their strides to get hold of it instead of the usual "Computer says no", why ay yow sorted it, approach.

I cant call it mate because I have no idea of what the complainant has stated or what the offender stated in interview, if in fact he made any comment at all.

My gut feeling is that the matter will be NFA'd due to the defence of self defence offered, well before his trip to Oz, I cant say that the CPS wont drag their feet on it though because their bollocks are very small concerning these things, we will see.

Right let's have some fun during the Ashes, tip your scoreline for all five Tests and the leading runmakers and bowlers for each side.

Mine: 2-1 to Australia, with two drawn.

Leading runmakers: England: Bairstow. Australia: Warner.

Leading bowlers: England: Woakes...Australia: Starc.

Really need to remember how to play Test match cricket. It is not a sprint. Dig in lads, make them toil. No need to score quickly, wickets more important on day one of the Ashes

C'mon you England.

The weather prior to the start of the test, has killed the pitch..there seems no pace in it.
I expect newly nominated sledger Lyons to bowl soon..I hope we ram his words down his throat

You can't win a test on the first day, but you can go a long way to losing it

They bowled well, but we stood strong
We have a base to build on

As long as we don't have one of our usual collapses, we are in this. 50/50 day one.

Big morning for England on day two because they will need a first innings score of at least 400 to put the Aussies under pressure.

Anything around 320/350 and you can see Australia looking to post a first innings total of 500.

Top five batsman once in have to score big hundreds not be content with 60 to 90 for themselves.

Not sure these Aussies are made of the same stuff as their past mentors. Let's see.

Watched the last session and its still in the balance.

Was impressed with the bowling of Jimmy Anderson and the heart of Stuart Broad giving it a go but the other bowlers were awful

A spinner that didn't spin it and Woakes who looks a County standard stock bowler.

Ball was ok but the Captain didn't use him much so mustn't believe in him.

Day three morning session massive for both sides.

246-4 and then the usual collapse set in, poor after building a great platform to get 400. 302 is not enough, Smith and Marsh set fair so we need a quick wicket first thing tomorrow, otherwise those two will punish us and the Aussies amass 500..from there they can't lose the game.

England coming out to bat in their second innings.

This is where Australia expect England to fold under pressure.

Can England get close to 300?
