It was the Aussies who cracked under pressure in the end. Dropped catch, missed run out, wasted review that prevented them reviewing the one that was out.

Stiokesie did the Botham heroics which I said wouldn't happen - I bow down to him. I wonder how much his determination hardened when he ran Buttler out.

Ben-9months=Boozy Brawler. Ben + 9months= Beefy Botham?

What a sporting moment in the annals of British sporting heroics truly inspiring performance. Remember the performance of Jack Leach as his name will definitely crop up in sporting quizzes of the future.

I stood up and applauded Stokes bowling performance the previous day because that was a superhuman effort, standing up to be counted while others shrivelled away.

Having put his body on the line one day to then have the mental strength and concentration to bat for hours with a supreme never say die attitude just said it all about the man.

Hasn't he matured in such a short space of time, a true Hero.

Well done, you deserve every good word said about you.

I'm still dumbstruck by what I saw. Someone shake me and wake me up, then I'll know it's not a dream. Truly out of this world and it eclipses Botham and Willis back in 1981.The World Cup Final ending and then this one, the most exciting sport going at present is Cricket.

Going into next week without changes will be a mistake

I said we couldn't do it last time - and I'm saying it again now. I reckon we will be all out by soon after lunch.

Indeed, they were better all through and we have to try and evaluate how we can train cricketers to adapt from the one day slogfests of 50 over and T20 games to the old faithful 5 day Test game. I would start by stripping Root of the captaincy but retaining him as a top line batsman, where he can concentrate just on his batting. I would make Bairstow captain, I am a firm believer in having your wicketkeeper as captain, then the bowlers and batsmen can fully concentrate on their main skill. Paine is not a great batsman for the Aussies but he is a good captain and that is a great skill in itself, managing all your team and letting your best players be free of captaincy worries and perform to their very best. Roy and Denly have to go too but it is who we can adequately or better replace them with that is the current England dilemma. In hindsight, it was madness in fitting in an Ashes series so close to and just after in this case a major World Cup tournament, players are not robots and deserve some adequate rest time. Lots to think about and assess.

If we win and draw the series, it will be only the 6th drawn series in ashes history.
This is the 71st series.

Did well England in that final test, some top class individual performances.

Some great catches.
