Jimmy Anderson has tightness to his right calf and will have a scan this afternoon.

Smith leaves a ball from Broad that seams back in and is out lbw.

He reviews it and he's reprieved.

Aus 103-4.

Australia 104-5.

Wade out lbw on review to Woakes. Great use of the review by England.

Smith is a great batsman
England could regret picking Anderson

I guess they already do. Broad and Woakes were too knackered to bowl to the last two. 122 for 8 to 284 all out is massive.

England picking two spinners would have been interesting

Australia have not won an Ashes Test in England after conceding a first innings deficit since the Trent Bridge Test of 1981.
On that occasion the Aussies gave up a six run lead before going on to win by four wickets.

Moeen is vital tomorrow, but he looks void of any confidence

I'd want at least 10 overs at England this evening.
The speed of their scoring has put them in a good position, although it's been made easier by being 2 bowlers down.

England will have to be patience when they bat, to stand any chance.
Don't look at the scoreboard, just concentrate on staying in.

Most of England's batsmen aren't capable of doing that for long periods - they will have a go - and get out. Lyon will bowl far better than Moeen has done.

There was a lot of complacency about last night and they have come to rue it again.

The Aussies will have the correct mentality for the 5th day, will England?

Nathan Lyon's bowling average in the fourth innings of Tests is 34.12. Statistically, it's his worst period of the match.

Nathan Lyon really showed Moeen Ali up today. Massive difference between the two of them not accounted for by the extra day's wear. Moeen has done some good stuff for England but he is out of form shot of confidence and needs a rest from the tests.

Have seen Nathan Lyon taking all kinds of verbal stick from his own fans.

Seems like a nice guy.

Q:How can a team that was 122-8 in its first innings go on to win the game?

A: When they play England.

Fucking useless mentally. They can only employ their one day game techniques. Bankrupt at the five day game. Get your cash on the whitewash.

When it matters under pressure the Aussies have two world class performers, England has none.
