I believe that was the last ashes test at the waca, with the new Perth Stadium (optus stadium) now built.
They may regret losing the fastest, bounciest wicket in the world, with the doctor blowing in.

I can see Australia batting on a road and making a big first innings score
This test has an ominous feel about it

Day three massive to avoid the whitewash.

A double hundred plus a big innings from Root required.

Too late the heroes........ great bowling though to reduce them from 260-3 to 327 all out. Now we need Cook and Root to rub the shit back into the Aussie faces, we need a score of 450 to have a chance of winning this Test match. Best day of our shite series.

Those first three Tests were basically warm ups. The series starts here...

As I struggle to shake off the lurgy, currently slurping some Healys Cornish Scrumpy, with a bottle of Shiraz waiting in the wings, I need a good kip and a lie-in, so I think I'll give the latest collapse a miss :smt030 :smt015

Bat Before Wicket, Vince yesterday and Malan today, both out without reviewing it, despite edging it, bizarre?

All the hype, and rightly so will be on Cook. But take him out of the equation and the rest were well....
..

Broad could just as easily have Made 2 than 50. Root, Mo same problems.

Oh well, let's just cheer for Cook.

I ended up watching up until Lunch, as I'd just finished watching the OASIS documentary, and still had a large glass of red to tend to. The Root dismissal was do disappointing, but the Malan LBW and no referral requested, was perplexing. How did Malan neither feel or hear the big inside edge?

Nice to drag my carcass out of bed, to see that we had made the most of things, for once. Hopefully on this slow, low pitch, we'll bowl full, line and length, and go to Sydney with some pride restored, and a BIG thank-you to the support from the Barmy Army.

Aussies 103-2, 43 overs lost to rain, so it looks like a stick on draw now but at least we have had the better of things in this Test match. On to Sydney, play Crane instead of Moeen. Or, as it is historically a turning pitch there, play both..??

Honourable draw, gets a bit of pride back and we dominated three of the five days. Lets go all out to win at Sydney, two spinners in the team for me.

If Crane does not start the next test, it will be a disgrace

Agreed. Love Mo, but the Sydney track historically gives a bit of turn and he's just lost his way with bat and ball at the moment. ( pardon the pun)

It's unfair on Mo to expect him to be a front line spinner when he clearly isn't. It's fine in English conditions but on flat tracks, he's just way too easy to play. On top of the fact he's lost confidence and isn't spinning the ball as much as he can. Give Crane a go.

I feel if England had Stokes they would be more open to dropping Mo. But with him lacking, they don't wanna lose another batter.

England look like they were beaten before the first ball of the first test, mentally.
Look at the batting of Broad and to a degree Cook, once the quickest bowler wasn't fit to play and they were on a slower pitch, the confidence came flooding back.

We need, once again, to be strong mentally

Think we have now lost this game, went from 228-3 to 233-5 inside a couple overs..these fine margins take their toll...Root again could not move on to a ton.....Cook, Stoneman and Vince did not make decent scores once seemingly "in"........advantage Australia.

You could copy and paste this for every Test this series. This series, in the first innings, 15 times as a top order batsman been out between 20-60

We need to be batting after lunch, with Malan standing firm, and the tail wagging. Need 350+, 400 would be great, sub-300 and we're under the cosh, unless Smith has the shits again.

The story of the tour, I was stunned and disappointed this morning
