Muhammad Ali who at his peak, was the most famous man on earth, has died aged 74.

Rarely has any person transcended his sport in a way Ali did..

"He aint pretty no more"

Total legend, magnificent sportsman, cultural and historical icon, ironically he is one of the reasons I dont watch boxing anymore.

Unbelievable talent. Unbelievable man.

Single handedly rescued boxing from oblivion, and restored pride to future generations of black men and women around the world.

RIP big man - a hero of every right-thinking person.

He was more important to the world than Nelson Mandela is or was.He chose to fight oppression with the talents that his God gave him, rather than tools of destruction. He was as important as Rosa Parkes was to the forward movement of America as a nation.
The man transcended races and nations and colours and creeds and the world listened to him because, he was, simply The Greatest.
He personified what benefits sport can give globally to both partakers and watchers in a time where the world was a far larger place to get across. My dad first told me about the Louisville Lip, he was in awe of the bloke,.. he was a good judge of character.

Just trying to grasp the enormity of his passing I thought about how many times his name would have been said over the weekend.

Billions of times in every big city around the world and also in every remote outpost.

He touched the whole world, just imagine that, the whole world knew of this great man. Future unborn generations will also learn of this man, now thats greatness.
