Angela Merkel has just confirmed Germany will not take part in any military action in Syria.

Well done.

Fuck knows what the loony tunes Trump and May are thinking.

The CIA and US military aren't so keen.

Interesting that Yougov have a poll showing by 2 to 1 Britons oppose military action, has the media reflected this? No.

Why did Russia veto an independent, UN led investigation into the incident ?

Very interesting Bloomberg story on Saudi Aramco's finances. One detail ,

services to the government and state companies cost $21.4bn in just six months.

Why did the US craft a UN resolution on the incident with language and provisions they knew Russia would reject? So idiots could regurgitate why did Russia block a UN resolution on the incident when they duly did.

The Russians wanted the results to be reported back to a council in which they have a veto on any resolutions from the conclusion. Do try to keep up

Two days ago Russia was absolutely adamant that nothing had happened. Now, somebody else has staged something. I do wish they could stick to the same story for at least 48 hours.

Boney M were indeed mentioned by Nostradamus in his papers as the harbingers of doom when the 'rain clears'.

I will only believe this though when Jez and Dianne take a quick unanounced holiday trip to France.

Nothing happened mate, if anything did in fact happen, it is highly unlikely that Britain was involved.

Indeed. All staged by a large Eastern European nation's intelligence services.

Whoever did this ( it wasn't us) was going to have all their aircraft shot down. Well, that's what the Russian Ambassador said. How did they get on with that ?

I see Russian politicians are comparing Trump to Hitler. Well they should know I suppose, after all they did ally themselves with Adolf to invade Poland before finding out the Nazis were even bigger lying bastards than they were.

Edited to add. Naturally they waited sixteen days until the majority of Polish armed forces were engaged in the West before sweeping in from the East to claim half the country as agreed with Hitler.

God bless the US military, they won the day. So the Russians allowed them to shoot off a hundred odd cruise missiles at some empty buildings, most of which were intercepted. Some folks were clearly hoping for more mayhem, for whatever reasons those are. Crisis averted.

We have the grotesque spectacle of a wider geopolitical proxy battle being waged, with the Syrian people used as pawns by all sides. I would welcome your assurance that Britain will embark on renewed diplomatic efforts to end this conflict

Yours Sincerely

V. Putin.

Links to the shooting down/interception by Russia of any Cruise Missiles and your evidence that those that got through were detonated in 'empty buildings'?

MI6 information ops outfit SOHR supports Ru MoD saying 65 plus missiles downed. Not seeing the damage that supports US assertions that none were stopped, I had thought the Rus had exaggerated, maybe not.

http://www.syriahr.com/en/?p=89324

The Syrians were given plenty of time to move their men and materiel under the Russian defence umbrella.

Syria joins the long list of countries fucked up in this proxy war between the US and Russia. They should just get it over with and bomb each other directly and then we can all move the fuck on.

It is sad that both can actually bomb each other in Syria, but choose to bomb the locals instead.

The Rus will do anything to protect their naval base at Tartus. The only reason they give a shit about Assad.

Theresa May took the decision to take action via Cabinet approval as she knew that if she put it to Parliament, she would have lost the vote, just like Cameron did in 2013. Very poor cowardly action.

At least Ms May knows a real picture of bombings from a fake one. I used to find Abbott funny, but now it is genuinely sad that the Labour Party have such a bare faced buffoon in a senior position.

Discussed in the last few topics by Colonel Lang and his commentators, some very knowledgeable, others not. Unfortunately Trump gets his intel from TV.

When it comes to humans rights there is little difference between ISIS and Saudi Arabia

Yet Tory politicians and even some Blairite MPs regularly travel to Saudi Arabia in order to do deals with the country.

No exceptions where Human rights are involved. Something Jeremy would clamp down on, all sides.
