Seen alot of people giving flack for people that voted third party for allowing Trump to win. I voted third party and I don't feel bad for it. Hillary lost out on the 08 nominee to an unknown senator. She almost lost the nominee this election to a unknown democratic socialist from Vermont (democratic socialist might as well = Stalin to some in this country), and lost the presidential election to an orange with a toupee. She is a terrible candidate. Democrats have only themselves to blame.

Trump is a racist, misogynist, bigot etc etc. He's never been told no in his life and he acts like it. But Hillary is not exactly a good person. I didn't want either with reins of the country.

I think that speak volumes thanks for the insight.

No matter what we think , we are the other side of the world - well most of us on here anyway- and its good to get a feel for whats really happening.

I think the democrats dropped the ball when they saw Trump had been nominated ...and thought "anyone can beat him" so didnt give any real consideraiton to whom they nominated.
....and ts come back to bite em on the arse.

Ive seen a few comments about Clinton, & I get the distinct impression she is not who we this side of the pond would like to think she is.

So, what happens now Mich? I see that some punters have resorted to a bit of rioting, following the result.

Is it not the case that the ruling Jewish-American elite, control the USA anyway, and Don will do as he's told, when all's said and done?

As for Hilary, back in the 80s, we had, to some, our own bitch in charge, in Maggie, but for all of her faults, I don't think she had a potty mouth like Mrs Clinton

Very good on both counts. Trumps do leave a stain.

Wow, what a relief, and more than a little joy. Neocons and associated fruitcakes won't be getting WW3 now. Bad news for Saudi Barbaria, Qatar and Israel, their candidate lost. Funny how the 'racist' Trump got a higher percentage of the black and Hispanic vote than Romney.

Why on earth she was even the candidate put forward by the Democrats, I guess all the special interests behind her made it so.

I remember an old gag, when Bill was running for the Presidency, and Hilary shaved her fanny, when campaigning for him. She pulled her skirt up, and said "Read my lips...who needs Bush?"

I don't know if there's any way we can predict what he will do re: foreign policy. He has no experience there (other than business dealings). It could be a disaster. Or he could listen to people more knowledgeable than him (but even the "experts" are often wrong re: Middle East). No freaking idea what it'll be like.

It will be interesting for sure. Trump got over 80% of the Christian evangelical vote. More than Romney did. He gets to appoint (with the approval of Congress) at least one Supreme Court Justice. He might get to appoint two with some getting up there in age. That puts both abortion and marriage equality in balance. If he goes by what his campaign was based on. Personally, I think he was pandering to the religious right to get their vote, but no way to know for sure.

Economically, the country won't improve. Wouldn't have improved with Hillary. We're not going to address unemployment or poverty unless we fix education first. We have plenty of jobs available. Just not unskilled labor jobs that pay living wages. Gotta improve education so people can gain access to the open jobs.

Evangelical Christians couldn't get over the fact Romney was a Mormon. Even if he was representing their usual party of choice.

Weirdly, if Romney had run this time he would probably have won.

I feel this was an election the Democrats lost via hubris and nepotism, more than the Republicans winning. Given the hatred for Hillary and how she only lost by a few % points in the important states. Any other Dem candidate would probably have beaten Trump.

I remember watching Trump the day before the election giving a speech in Grand Rapids Michigan, and thinking Whats he doing there.

How can a Republican Candidate gain Mitchigan, they destroyed Detroit, made it an empty town just like the Conservatives destroyed the West Midlands.

Strange world when towns and Cities can vote for the very people who set out to destroy them.

The previously employed white blue collar worker saw themselves ignored by Democrats in the USA and Labour in the UK and haven't a clue who to turn too.

So the guy with the big mouth and a few bite size slogans gets their ticket in a roll of the dice course of action.

Who wants to represent these people, Barry Sanders Jeremy Corbyn?

Some people love Michael Moore, some loathe him. But he absolutely nails how Trump was going to win. I can't help but agree with all 5 points. So on point.

Stock market already soaring, say goodbye to eight years of anemic growth. Trump landslide in 2020.

I'm hoping that Don do will a guest appearance on the front-line, in Syria, with a Gatling gun.

Whats more frightening than a President like Trump are the far right politicians seeking office and influence.
I just can't see a Trump presidency working at all.

The Iran nuclear deal endangered if Donald Trump seeks to renegotiate its terms.

Do you honestly trust far right republicans with such tender negotiations. I dont. But the pressure from pro Israel politicians could create greater divides.

These are the concerns for everyone.

And the man who is to oversee the transitions at the EPA is one of hte biggest climate skeptics around.

People expecting change from Trump are in for a big surprise. He isn't going to end special interests in Washington. He isn't going to end corruption. He will continue it. I don't necessarily think everything will be a disaster because some of what he has stated he'll do is unrealistic (like the wall). And he's already backed down on some platforms (now says he only wants to change Obamacare). But he isn't going to improve anything either. Other than the pocketbooks of his companies and his friends.

And Ben Carson is perhaps the biggest moron around. I don't understand how he is liked at all. He may be a talented surgeon but he's a fool.

When the Vice President comes out with stuff like " Your not really Gay, you just haven't met the right woman yet" you know your in a difficult situation.

Just looking at Paul Ryan at the moment, has there ever been a more two faced snake.

Do you ever get the feeling the likes of Donald Trump have never tried to see the world through the eyes of a black man.

Very impressed by Trump's picks so far. Mike Flynn as National Security Advisor, certainly not a man in the pocket of the Military Industrial complex. Best of all Jeff Sessions as AG, a man who has fought the cheap labour/mass immigration lobby his whole life. Breath of fresh air after the incompetent one.
