Boris as London honcho, showed his true colours. He is far more a centrist and social activist than many think. He certainly did more in his time than the present incumbent has done. The homeless policy London-Labour crow about today, was put in place by Boris, not Khan. I think people will be surprised.

Johnson really does need to get out up there and do some research and witness first hand evidence of how bad things have become in those areas. I truly hope that he does so. Maybe Corbyn & his associates should have done that as well- they may then have seen and heard first hand what was waiting for them in this GE. Although if KK's paranoia and blinkered view is anything to go by they would have probabably ignored it.

Hey - stop that!
You have heard from several sources that the POLICIES were brilliant and received massive support around the country. Nothing wrong with wildly optimistic socialist-Marxist philosophies of screwing business and anyone with a smidgeon of wealth for every penny, and distributing it around those who support the socialist ideal.
Grandpa Jezza and that nice Uncle John have said it is THEIR fault - and of course the way the media portrayed them - they lost the election. The policies will continue....
(And did anyone think for a minute that the media were less fair to Corbyn than they were to the 'interview-avoiding, lying and cheating' Boris? I suspect if anyone had cause to complain it would be Johnson, not Corbyn.
Oh well - all over for another 5 years....
But hey - we can look forward to all the arguments and rows of 'will they won't they?' allow a Scottish Independence vote....
Boris must have half a mind to say 'just GO'! Can you imagine how hard it would be for Labour & the leftist SNP etc to ever get a majority in England & Wales only? Five years of independence and being run by the SNP under the EU rules (if it lets them back!) would have the Scots CLAMOURING to return to the UK....!!

The hard core Marxists only really lost that awful woman Pillock form the fold. Why? Their policies were so popular ? No. Moderate Socialists in the North who lost their seat are coming clean on the total lack of support they received from the Party to get their message across . Hindsight and prior planning by the clique.

I wonder if the UK will ever have another Labour government? It's certainly hard to imagine Labour ever having a majority govt again.

I think that the result was heavily influenced by Labour Leavers who deserted their party for once to vote for something their party would not consider. Also, with the Brexit Party diluted, it left the Tories with a clear field to run at and they sure did. Whatever your colours it is good to have some certainty now with the obstructing opposition mobs at Parliament getting well stuffed into oblivion and business and the markets ( and maybe also the EU) will feel far better now that a clear and decisive vote has been resulted. Labour has to rid itself of Corbyn, McDonnell, McCluskey and Momentum to be able to regroup and slowly evolve into a proper socialist Party once again, they have been an outdated model for a few years now and do not represent the working man at all. Thank God it is all over, get Brexit finalised asap ( the trade deals will take far longer though and there will be hiccoughs) and we can hopefully all get back to something resembling normality. I would take issue with the majority of this post due to its lack of accuracy.

Its surprising how peoples thoughts change when they see their lot depreciating. When Fishermen see no change, when the northern man sees immigration numbers as high as before. When Brexit brings with it Economic catastrophe and from that a lack of investment in front line services. When police numbers and nurses numbers show no improvement. Then we shall see how voters intentions soon change. Johnson can own Brexit, lets hope he is held accountable along that journey.

If these issues are not addressed, the huge majority will dwindle. However, Boris is a centrist, he will push to get things done in his buffoonery way, his new voters may well like him.

The Remainer opposition did not take up the offer so we ended up with a General Election. Of course those promises would not be binding any more. I hope and wish that he does provide decent workers rights and environmental protections but I do not accept any two faced accusations here - we start again with a new parliament. I noted throughout the General Election how "The Independent" was doing all it could to complete a hatchet job on Johnson and the Tories.
