Johanna Konta into the women's semi-finals to face a 37 year old, Venus Williams.
First British woman to reach this stage of the tournament since Virginia Wade in 1978.
Well done.

Murray's not won a 5 set match since last Wimbledon, today will be tough, maybe too tough.

Poor bugger could hardly run. Injury defeated him at the end of the day. Needs to take a couple of months off to recover.
Federer looks unbeatable.

I fear the very top players are training their bodies to the absolute levels of fitness and then find they break more easily.
Recovery at 30 is so different than recovery at 20.

Murray is a great player with a tremendous will to win, but.. IMO he will not win another slam

Fair point, he needs to think about his age, and forget rankings. Rest and return.

Agreed. It feels like Murray focused too much on getting to World Number 1 last year, and didn't have a break. Reckon he'll have a few weeks off now, then come back for the US Open, then hopefully have a break again after that

I think those top four players have to ignore the sponsors, the World ratings and just try andget ready for the blue ribbond events.
Time to cut back on the heavy schedules.

Time to cut back on the heavy schedules. Problem with that is, that the seedings in the slams is based on rankings, and if the Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray are lower in the rankings, it will make it all the harder to be winning those Slams

Murray, finally returned to the court this week.. He has dropped to 16th in the world having not played for over 100 days and will face a tough draw in Australia.

Big blow to Murray I'd have thought

It could mean over twelve months out of the game and a return based on pure talent. I'd almost like him to give up on singles, and become a full-time doubles player with Jamie. Those two could clean up over a couple of years, and it would be a lot less damage on his body

Just watched him play Kyrgios at Queens. He lost in three sets but he looked in incredible form considering what the lad has been through. Welcome back Andy. I have missed him. I will be glued to all his matches for as long as he plays the game.
