Veganism, OMG. Listening yesterday to the debate, my heart went out to the luvvie who's daughter aged FOUR has made a conscious decision to follow mummy into the life choice without any coercion, and had told daddy, without prompting "Why did you try to eat Teddy ? " Today across the press is the scandal about lack of help in schools for special needs kids. If this Vegan legislation goes through, and I have no doubt with the support of the population of Brighton, it will, schools in normal parts of the country, will have to assign cooks, food, and teachers to supervise the minimal numbers of kids who choose ( without Mummy's help) to wave this flag. As they couldn't possible eat their nettle sandwich in the same room as little Jonny, enjoying his burger. Now if there is no "Money Tree" ( sorry Corbyinistas, there isn't one ) schools and local authorities will have to prioritise money for this new cause celebre, money that could have gone to children with genuine need, dare I say special needs. Special needs they did not choose to have with the help of Mummy.. And then looms the elephant in the room. All the supporters of nettle soup, want it to be treated as a religion. And all the followers of the new nettle soup creed, must be offered the same protection as say Muslims ? Who enjoy halal meat.

It's the way society has stumbled into these last few years, political correctness run amok. When I depart the planet, I will not be too sad to leave it, a damning indictment.

I just hope you choose to go in an environmentally friendly way, returning your nutrients to mother earth via an organic fully decomposable coffin....

Or Primary Math, like Abbott.

Veganism has nothing to do with political correctness. It's a conscious stance that one doesn't wish to be involved in and contribute toward the harm and slaughter of innocent animals.

Nonsense. Like most cause celebre, the purist form you describe had been hijacked and turned into a rainbow coloured tail wagging the dog. Tell me Shrops, would you prefer money spent on special needs kids or a small minority of children the majority of that minority pushed into a parental lifestyle choice ?

I never said people should be forced into such, nor should it be funded by public monies.

If you make personal individual decisions that are in the great minority you have to adapt yourself accordingly. But you are entitled to make those decisions where they are law-abiding.

No different to believing a man called Mohammad is controlling your destiny and requiring you to kneel on the floor X times a day and not eat anything for days on end.
